Temporarily countermaesure



Temporarily countermeasure was performed by connecting the linkage with tieup bands. This is for about 1 week application before the ordered replacement parts would come to me.

Though primitive and stupid connection with engineering plastic material, under the stress of only pulling action enough to acceleration response is obtained.

As impatience and despair invited trifle error, accelerator wire end stopper bolt on Bocar 34PICT3 carburetor destroyed on the head because of primitive mistake, overtightening.
Of course damaged bolt was thoroughly removed and compensated with new 5mm by 10mm bolt safely, reminding me of famous proverb, "Misfortune never comes alone!".

The criminal of strange smell like geriatric odor indeed was the carpet inside of cabin. Finding out some brown colored powder after removing them, all of them were mold spore indeed.

So, determined I to replace them thoroughly though as relatively expensive they are. It's better to do that if I continue this Super Beetle from now for the time being, for the comfortable driving in this automobile.

The automatic choke module's initial angular position has much to do with the idling mixture setting, so it was a bit adjusted again.

The clicking noise in steering linkage becoming louder and louder, day by day, checking the backlash while parking by shaking steering roughly. Probably tie rod end ball joints on both side must be replaced that were not changed from the begining. Replacement parts are ready.

Now my Super Beetle has minus thrust angled value, so positioning the left frontal hub position outside by cam adjuster and strut upper mount moving outside are the best cocking on erath.

Though complicated procedures as the task will be, I would be sure to be satisfied so much if the constructive geometry and wheel alignment were established firmly.
These are the residual pleasure for me on this Beetle.
