Torsion beam in TypeR

Probably the vehicle with torsion beam rear axle design might not have the construction to adjust rear wheel alignment, because the hinge rubber material would consume the discrepant error and cheat the driver as if it is well adjusted. On the other hand, muddy and sticky dull steering reaction could not be denied, these are the reasons that I don't buy Civic Type R that was modified public car Fit.
It has revealed its true colors representing the poor rear axle construction designing.
However clever lie might be considered by HONDA advertizing division, physical property of torsion beam rear axle could not be fooled until the basic design might be completely changed like TOYOTA did on Brade from Auris.

I'll give it to him, NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz 1300cc RS model with torsion beam rear axle if he wants, because the category is the same as HONDA Fit 1300cc model?
Why must I purchase a dissatisfied automobile at 3,000,000 yen, suppose my profit rate, I have to earn money as much as 15,000,000 to get the amount? Most unlikely dream for him, just unrealistic.

The importance of establishing minimum thrust angle is completely ignored from the beginning if torsion beam designing was invited on rear axle construction. Only a frivolous effort had been made on the design except cost reduction?
Basically any lateral force while turning on the curve situation for an automobile, any lateral rod or alternative arms must be designed, this kind of basic scientific truth and fact should be well understood by an elementary school kid?

Driving performance

Wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry are the indispensable requirements to be fulfilled to drive an automobile comfortably. The thrust angle is the most important one that has been defined plus minus 10 degree on European Traffic Safety Standard.

So there are various habit tendency to run right or left side unintentionally, they are all automatically adjusted to run straight by special device, driver's unconscious steering adjusting capability.
Then an automobile may exist to run straight without adjusting if so many automobile exist with either habit to run right or left?
This is my first imagination to start researching on wheel alignment and on geometry over 10 years ago.
It was the target that the reproducibility of measurement and obtaining reliable datum.

Recently I have come to the conclusion that the actually dynamic establishment of wheel alignment cannot be attained till I measure the discrepant value should be known on steering position while actual running scenery and adjusted based on the data measured from frontal portion as relative to its location, the static balance in stable position and the dynamic one while driving are different each other.

Miserable ELPIDA

ELPIDA has bankrupted at last, it is due to unfavorable foreign exchange since the terrible Lehman Crisis on 15th September 2008 in US.
Producing a big non-performing loans with wasting of tax again.
Economic meltdown this time should not be an prologue of that of IT industry in our country, so I hope.

The collapse of the bubble economy of US, Earthquake on 3/11 and Nuclear Accident of electric power supply, force us remember a proverb, "The disaster never comes alone.".
On the other hand there may be an opinion that the time of external powers come in us is an good opportunity to change taking an advantage of this good energy from outside?
Now is the time for "Heisei Revolution"?

I'll be the busiest person this week for the notification to the several public agencies.
As for us, now is the time of period for filling enough energy in myself to begin to move large in future.

Lateral offset & thrust

As just only for experimental trial to check the frontal thrust on VW 1302 Super Beetle, 3mm thickness wood plate spacer insertion may be permissible, of course I know the material is not so adequate to be used for a long time, but the purpose to know the tendency of dynamic thrust balance moving slowly for very short distance.
Moving left frontal wheel parallel to outside means producing lateral offset to the left side in accordance with producing trust angle to the plus rotation when observed from upper side.

We must not ignore the change of scrub point displacement to inside, the phenomena is basically different from the actual adjustment moving strut upper mount outside and lower arm knuckle ball joint point also outside.
The left side tendency would be reduced actually if the wheel position might be moved to the same wheel position obtained position by experimental trial, because of the difference of scrub point.

Anyway several experiments would be repeated in future on VW 1302 Super Beetle for establishing the zero thrust angled vehicle, the ideal steering reaction would be obtained even with the flexible worm gear steering gear box and related linkages.

As the first attempt, some measuring frontal total toe direction while straight run was adopted as the basis adjustment of dynamic thrust correction on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model. The result was so effective as to exceed the stability of OPEL B-Vectra, expressing this new feeling as just "Comfortable Ride".

And the increase of rear total toe value by increasing rear right side Toe-in clarified the distortion of wheel construction and the uncomfortable ride obliged me to replace all the wheels, replacement parts are prepared and the operation would be performed on coming Thursday. I'm looking forward to experiencing the results.

On the way

Re-measurement of the total length changed the adjusting value from 10cm into 12cm thinking over the convenience for setting and AC wiring actually.
This kind of precise adjustment would be effective after finishing the work.

X-Ray room has been covered with thin 1,5mm thickness lead plate thoroughly, this kind of plating procedure is indispensable for the delivering some specific form to the Public Agency, this is an obligation in accordance with the Law of Radiation Hazards Prevention.

About 80% of inner room designing has been embodied these days but with wooden surface. I'm looking forward to see finished one on 14th next month, possible?
The sign designing plate outside is not yet, just drawing only, let them make haste!

As for working chair, unnecessary device like air filter & water filter bracket was removed and water supplying hoses must be replaced otherwise peeing of water would trigger board printed electric circuitry shortening leading to solenoid coil thermal fuse breaking that had been brought before.

Change designing

Actual scaling of the construction brought some design changes on our new laboratory on the way, the length of the long axis direction of chairs in the waiting room using now was the reason. I might be impossible to change depending on the timing that the problem had been discovered, it was happy for us this time to have measured the sizes actually yesterday. Sunday as it is today, I may be a busy person also standing the place all day long.

D-Day in 2 weeks

Things are moving with involving energy of many officials for constructing our new laboratory. The affair comes to the point beyond the climax. The chairs for waiting room would be in the working of re-covering the epidermis, because the construction were so good enough to be re-usable with no looseness nor distortion.

As for working chairs, some periodical replacement parts are under review, and the final order would be done while incorporating the opinions by the factory professional, my relative.
These arrangements are indispensable because not a few factory made some very special parts are included in them.

Experienced professionals but not in our field wanna make a rehearsal for moving machinery prior to the implementation before D-Day.

Submitted documents to seal the mark through the branch would arrive at us this morning and they would be delivered to the Society of us on next Monday. These are like solving a puzzle one by one perfectly.

Serious step now


Consultation with my relative by telephone last night brought some indispensable information on moving our machinery to new place.
Several special parts were equipped in the connections now, so the parts that are not re-usable must be ordered previously, red pointed ones.

Copper pipe with S shape must be replaced at any rate because the physical property changing according to aging effect would easily make some cluck leading to make a huge pond in the working place?

Residual points shows the factory made specially designed parts also have to be prepared without any failure.
Also special glue to adhered Vinyl chloride and special parts must be considered avoiding any leaking phenomena.

This is a incredibly serious step for a layman like me being a complete outsider in this field! But I'll do that, because I decided by myself! Change my own consciousness from some suffering matter into the best opportunity to enjoy my life by doing some professional like works!

Transition period


Megasoft Star Fax Personal software doesn't work well on new Windows 7 OS, they oblige us to buy new software as a renewal issue about at 8,400 yen expenses?

An unexpected affair occurs if I change something into another one, this is why I insist on no-changing if whatever thing goes well now!

As for our working machinery there are several connections, water supply and it's drain way, compressed air supply and vacuum, Alternative current 100V power supply, switching the vacuum motor and lighting 24V AC out let.

Some special parts are used on the drain outlet connection and the water supplier valve parts. These parts must be ordered prior to the setting performing on 10th next month.
This kind of careful inspection would lead us successful finally.

Moving hastily

A few official filing to Union Headquarters would be performed today by way of the permission of it's branch. It's the day filled with intricate complexity today. Many an unexpected affairs occurs one after another these days. Cumbersome days would last till the middle of next month?

Sufficient power & motivation

It'll be rainy tomorrow and I would come to my laboratory in order to prepare for immigration to new place, there must be huge preparatory matters that cannot be described now?
All the water lines and air pressure lines have to be checked carefully including replacement of connecting plastic tubes, fixing sleeves are also required.

Polymerization device fixed in the working chair must be maintained for No.4 machinery. The vacuum motor is dictated by the switches equipped in every machinery by way of a large capacity control relay.

On the other hand, some vacuum duct, compressed air,  City gas cock, control switches and 6 AC plugs table tap  should be prepared on new laboratory space, one for vibrator and 4 for Rotary tools promptly.

Not an ordinary shop but a workroom like ours requires very special skill to design and to construct actually, so a layman in our field may be at a loss how to do occasionally?
Don't worry about this disadvantage because I would compensate anything by myself what our constructor lacks.

Peak point!

My body condition has almost recovered this morning from catching cold on last Saturday. I spent some period of time with the workers at our future place, in spite of younger ages all of them are hard workers in good personalities. We consulted and negotiated about the electric power supplying wiring and hot water piping for about more than 1 hour after my work, tired out but with comfortable fatigue.
This kind of negotiation would last for the time being, because the construction is just at peak point now.
Flooring and ceiling have became some rough outline shape today and I'm looking forward tomorrow, now is the most exiting moment, anything can happen, don't you think?

Fishing bait

Fishing bait for making connections with us is a half price discount of commission for creation of notification forms to the public institute on X-Ray machinery.
Most of the people must catch up this tasty bait without no argument, but I'm different from an ordinary people, reject I any proposal by the third power in our business intentionally, because the money saved here by biting this bait would mean a lot in future. This is why they insist to continue contacting us with sweet souvenir every time.

I hope any event would not occur from now and our movement to new place would not leave any root of evil at all. In addition, my son might not suffer a setback by their retaliatory measures?
So, I might have to buy something in order to convince them for sweet honey?

Strategy & tactics

Several times of designing change delays the completion of our new laboratory, already two month and I guess one more?
In addition not only the elongation of construction even the increase of cost is inevitable on earth, already doubled?

There must be some strategy and tactics to cut in the dealing world of us by the third power, probably they have contacted behind with our constructor already to give some interests after the victory? I'll do that if I were in their position.
The third power does not know my power and they regards our laboratory as an ordinal one in addition to our having special direct pipe with the company of machinery.

Much more deeper consideration and orders to silences must be necessary.
This kind of dealing problem is far complex intertwining and looks puzzling if some amount of money is involved.
But, their purpose to contact us now is taking business chance to start and to continue with new customer, so I guess if standing positions are changed with me.

Delay

It was a very seldom for me to be ill in bed all day long, once per 3-5 years. The planning yesterday did not go well because of upper reason unexpectedly. My body's temperature has become normal one and the recovery is almost attained this morning coming to my laboratory not by car but by train for the traffic safety.

A different experimental trial brings some different result and it might change standing point of view if the basic events are not changed, so attempts in a different way are not ignored in any cases. For example the measuring point and the standards may be changed from front to rear promptly. This imagination has been commercialized recently for checking thrust angle in wheel alignment and it was proved to be effective in establishing zero degree thrust angle. I'm going to try the same procedure in wheel alignment adjusting ones on SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza, VW 1302 Super Beetle.

The delay of construction of our new laboratory is about 2 weeks as I imagined from the beginning, but the payment of rent does not make sense, just wasting?
It might be postponed till the end of next month at the worst?

Interests

Studied I some part of "Justice" in NHK program last night by Prof. Michael J. Sandel in Department of Political philosophy of Harvard University since 1636. His way of giving lecture is not an Amane such as a street but is so to speak Socrates way proceeding the class with student's mutual participation, very interesting study it was.
Of course some active responses were made by the participant, not only students but also prominent member of society with connecting each other by internet conferencing system.
There exists some difference in the way of thinking reinforced by the concepts, rich and poor, social background and basic culture.

About my car maintenance procedure:
All the wheels from TOKYO through YaHoo Auction were checked on centrifugal rotating tester resulting in no problems, though I have been afraid of any distortion in one of them, so I determined to replace all of the wheels now equipped in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model. Periodical vibration now I don't accept should disappear after the procedure tomorrow.
Additionally a bit thrust angle adjustment would performed on the rear left side to open toe for minus angle application.

12 hours driving on XH200 OPEL B-Vectra has proved that the setting and balancing of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model is not at hand of those of those of B-Vectra, all the physical property of BC7 as a vehicle are inferior to OPEL? However hard I may try to copy the performances of Vectra onto BC7 Legacy, the performance could not exceed OPEL, in vain, I don't know why?

 As is often the case I'm ill in bed this morning because of fever at 38 degree celsius, my planning to replacing wheels into good ones for BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model didn't come true, putting it till Thursday.
All the appointments were cancelled today except checking the sizes of instruments cases for our new laboratory. On the other hand stopping on the way for a moment may be an indispensable opportunity to think over everything much deeply.
The cause of fever is not from prevailing influenza but from the result of some overworking or a simply cold? Symptoms are just a fever, tiredness and indigestion?

High time?

From long time ago I had some perception that one of four of the genuine GT wheel for SUBARU first generation Legacy had been distorted unacceptably, but ignored without specific reason. The adjustment procedure last time clarified it as an unpleasant periodical vibration on the right side rear wheel and it differs occasionally meaning not one but more wheel have any distortion?

As the replacement wheel arrived from TOKYO through YaHoo Auction system at reasonable price, all of them have to be checked on the revel of distortion on the centrifugal rotational tester machinery.

I don't regard the axle suspension setting of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model is superior to that of OPEL B-Vectra, actually all of the components are from GC8 Impreza GDB model as it is. I feel the time is coming to change the axle designing into another setting, the original suspension coil springs in combination with another set of genuine ones for BC8 WRX model, the combination of originally softer springs with a little bit harder dumpers?
Now my concentrations turns toward the first generation Legacy BC7, several experimental trials would be performed from now.

As for VW 1302 Super Beetle, driver's seat replacement into OPEL Omega's one with two lumbar supporting mechanical adjustment system would be continued but later.
As a simple imagination, just inserting a spacer between wheel and brake dram outer surface, though the tire position may be moved out side, the original scrub point does not move and eventually the tendency of minus scrub increases resulting causing right side running.
So sim inserting trial would cause some completely different phenomena physically.
Consequently the complicated procedure to move strut outside is inevitable conclusion.
The thrust adjustment by means of moving the left frontal strut outside about 2mm would be done later, yes waiting 2 liquid type urethane painting procedure in Marine Blue #54 also would be postponed but a bit.

Thrust adjustment on SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza is not forgotten yet, just a moment! Because not a little cases occurs one after another, I'm full now and in state of indigestion!

Iron material

Lack of oxygen supply in blood specific material hemoglobin among soccer professionals was reported in some TV program, it causes a dysfunction of running capability. Too rapid muscle strengthening is one of a reason, the element of iron is not supplied in hemoglobin enough to carry oxygen to every part of body especially to muscles.

The differences in food culture may be the reason, Western countries oblige to add iron material to flour in processing of grinding, on the other hand in Japan no obligation.
Soccer professional player who is suffered from poor hemoglobin capability caused by the lack of iron material needs to take 50mmgr of the material every day for at least 3 to 4 months.

300km of driving to AKAIWA in OKAYAMA Prefecture riding in XH200 OPEL B-Vectra yesterday brought no fatigue after that. This result is due to a daily maintenance keeping in the best condition and basic designing for high way driving in West Germany?

The reason why I choose OMEGA's driver's seat for VW 1302 Super Beetle is the adjustments of the back seat, linear rotating angular position(not latch and notch), two adjustable points of lumber supports and sitting base angular movement, of course the reasonable price as a removed & used parts, in addition any failure may be permissible at the worst.

As I guess, inner construction of the back and base were still hard and solid for future using, though a bit of dirt was found on the surface, no critical defects were recommended.
This fully manually adjustable seat would be disassembled in parts and cleaned thoroughly before setting in Beetle in combination with the VW genuine mounting base.

Alfa Romeo 164 stabilizer was also obtained there for setting in Beetle with some modifications. As we know the setting stabilizers very serious step for any automobile in frontal and rear axle construction with good balance. Many experiments would be tried in future as some hobby joys. Not a little influences would be invited in the taste of Ride with the combination.

Business on academic work

Weather condition in OSAKA today is not so stable, fine it will be tomorrow but it be changed into cold again?

Remarkable improvement on steering stability in BC7 SUBARU LSi US model awakened my motivation for proceeding in future wheel alignment establishment in every automobile I'm keeping now.

The auto that I care at the most is SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza that has not enough establishment in wheel alignment, in addition as the same rear driving auto VW 1302 Super Beetle.
Altezza has several adjustable rear axle construction, so step by step and careful adjustment of wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry would attain marvelous setting as a final goal.

As for Beetle with no adjustable construction except adjustable outer trailing arm leading to simultaneous movement wheel base and toe-in direction resulting in the requirement of frontal strut lateral adjustment by moving the strut upper mount positions. Though the limitation of rear axle adjustment makes it complicated to establish the precise alignment establishment, but it would be done without good reasons, possible!

"Recommendation of the academic work" on NHK program is worth studying for us in the end of the brunch of Natural Scientific Research. I'm going to study, to overcome fully and to digest completely on earth, surely!

Defect improvement

Correcting the very important trust angle on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model clarified the wheel distortion on some portion, because periodical noise and vibration are felt and discerned while driving on a flat road. This inconvenience has been perceived since few years ago, but being ignored as a minor problem. Now I'm obliged to countermeasure on this intolerable inconvenience. Finding out some used ones in YaHoo Auction, try to bid today, but I must prepare my mind that all of four wheels would not be in fine condition without distortion?

AD motor in VW 1302 Super Beetle gains original performance day by day probably because the introduction of Showa Shell Pura premium fuel with the effect of self-cleaning action. Resulting some requiring carburetor adjustment, making idling rotation lower and mixture thinner. At the beginning when I sow the special distributor with vacuum controlled advancing delaying mechanism, both of diaphragm were torn away nand being activated by throttle vacuum actions in addition to stuck centrifugal advancing mechanical structure. This is why she takes time to re-obtain the original performance, criminal must be some sediment in cylinders?

As for our new place for laboratory, all the glass sashes were set in position safe and seems it has become in future.

Forward

Establishment of integrity in wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model has made it clear there exits some periodic vibration while running on relatively flat road, remembering the application of excessive wheel balancing weight  30gr on a sepecific wheel, meaning any morphological distortion leading to unacceptable vibration? Much more inspection must be done to eliminate this critical inconvenience.

As is often the case, problems comes out one after another endlessly from 20 years old automobile, of course this is why I do not proceed to purchasing any new model. Because the more inconvenience, the less takes my care, some honor student is not interesting for a guardian.



Our new laboratory is now under construction without delay these days. All the engineer come ours are good fingers with better personality. The construction would be completed by the beginning of next month.

Adjustment in VW1302

Careful checking on the thrust angle in VW 1302 Super Beetle by reading the distance on two centric positions on steering post proved about 1,5mm meaning the discrepancy would be 7 to 10 minutes leading to minus angle with right side running tendency. This discrepant value is contained in the acceptable range of European Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, thrust angle should be so adjusted as to the value of plus minus 10 minutes.

The adjusting point does not exist in the independent rear semi-trailing designed rear axle construction, Super Beetle's specific designing, the outer trailing arm length adjustment is purposed to do on wheel base adjustment. So, after establishing the length on both side, residual lateral displacement of rear axle must be compensated by adjusting frontal axle constructions, strut on either side must be moved laterally keeping a three dimensional parallelism with an original positioning relations.

This procedure looks logically correct but not so an easy task as described like this.
Finally about 2 mm outside movement of left strut upper mount displacement would be done accompanying lower arm adjusting externally on central cam adjusting point, of course toe-in value reduction would go together without description for the last procedure.

Probably much more fixed  and tight centric stability would be obtained after upper adjustment procedures. The steering centric stability while straight running scenery like doing on a rut has nothing to do with the constructive designing, compliance, play nor hysteresis, also the positioning of driving wheels even in 4 wheel driving system.

This phenomena is already proved on torsion beam rear axle designed NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz with muddy and sticky centric steering reaction, this tendency is close upped if it's thrust angle comes to Zero degree. In addition it is often observed in German automobiles with too much negative camber application designing of wheel alignment, also very sticky in centric position but not so bad ride.

Thrust angle

Today's feat on adjusting the thrust angle to zero degree in the wheel alignment of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model has proved that the best drive feel could be obtained on a Japanese designed automobile.
Though it is basically inferior to German designed one because of the difference of limited cruising speed, enough excellent straight going stability could established if the wheel alignment was performed precisely.

According to my 10 years experiences, the maximum effect by precise measuring and adjusting would be plus minus 5 minutes(angle value) at the least and further boiling up to the utmost would be established only by actual test driving, so the good finishing depends only on the test driver's sixth sense?

Yes, the stacked errors in an axle constructive geometry and wheel alignment would be fixed at once that is very similar with the moving wing tab adjustment by a test pilot of the new airplane before rolling out.
My self -confidence has reinforced again in the Wheel alignment procedure today, because I perceived firmly again in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi 4 wheel drive axle layout automobile, how is the vehicle with zero thrust adjusted condition.
 

To the point!

0,8mm outside movement of rear right rear lateral rod in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model took remarkable effect on driving taste this morning, with operating the change of thrust angle to minus direction about 4 minutes(angle value) and more 0,7mm(tire outer circle scaling) increase of total toe value.

Probably the test drivers in the production factory must have nourished these kind of keen senses to feel, to know and to do what part, how to do and how much? As for me over 10 years of desperate effort was necessary to do like this.
With this trifle but based on indispensable experiences adjustment I have determined to continue this initial generation Legacy much longer because I have come to the point to loose any reason to desert her.

Residual automobiles I'm keeping now that require some more wheel adjustment are 11AD VW 1302 Super Beetle and SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza, scaling points for measurements are as usual, devices are favorable in well maintained condition, know hows have accumulated enough to establish it precisely and so boy got a girl, shall I proceed to the next step?

Busy holidays

Off time I have two days as today and tomorrow, I have to attend to the affair as usual, because the construction of new working place is in the middle of infrastructures, vacuum air, water supply, drainage pipings. All the workers there making efforts in this cold weather condition. My son would come back from his tomorrow, because he has made up his mind to take over my job here.

Before coming to the place I would drop in my villa to the working pit to adjust the thrust angle of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model. probably the value of discrepancy would be below 5 minutes under the tolerance of European Traffic Standard value, it would be corrected by moving the rear right rear lateral rod outside to increase rear right toe-in and to apply minus thrust angle, now left side going tendency.

Steering linkage idler parts had arrived for Super Beetle with front strut and rear semi-trailing independent suspension designing, I have to keep it in combination with quite a rare worm steering gear parts, because these parts would be keys to continue my VW 1302 Super Beetle endlessly, probably my son would continue this 40 years air-cooled VW. Now trip meter shows 42,000km from the initial use.

Artificial space


The bridge on Shin Naniwa line commanded a typical city view of OSAKA Japan. This picture was shot under reverse lighting condition with shutting off the direct sun light on to the lens by left hand's palm. Though I'm not interested in an artificial space, I happen to shoot this kind of  typical city like scenery. High way constructive energy on an artificial canal was found on my way home from Momodani Tennouji.

Double-glazed window

Double-glazed windows were introduced in my apartment room arranged by mine yesterday, intending not the noise filtering but thermal control especially avoiding some dew condensation inside of the window glass surfaces.
I woke up this morning in a different atmospheric air condition, apparently my room temperature was warmer than before and no dew was found on the window glass anywhere!
Effects were enough to overcome the expenses of 300,000 yen per six windows at all?

Rein in waste

Vitz legal inspection

Today I'm going to make an action for the legal inspection every two years for NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz at Kobe Kinki Department of Moto Vehicles, appointment reservation had been done by means of Web site and the decided number also obtained.
As all the maintenace servicing has been done by myself twice already, no inconvenience would not be pointed out by the Authority in the inspection test. All the forms are already fulfilled previously, so I would be able to proceed to the line immediately after arrival at Kobe Uozaki Ougi. Description later:

Play, hysteresis and compliance

Too sensitive initial steering response may cause some nerve fatigue of driver. In order to make driver feel so to speak safe and stable riding taste, an adequate amount of  play might be required in some portion in steering linkage or the axle construction compliance, of course the function is basically different from Hysteresis.
The less compliance in axle construction design might be introduced, the more precise adjustment and the more firm establishment of wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry are required, so the designing on the distribution of compliance is the key to decide the riding taste of the automobile, the number of combination of them are unlimited on earth.
Not a many experimental trial would be performed and be tested repeatedly by many officials before rolling out of the model.

Thrust discrepancy

Ultimate reaching point of wheel alignment and geometric axle construction correction is to overlap 2 centric steering positions, one is that of automobile it self and another is that of driver's Sixth sense. Very abstract representation as upper description is, I do not imagine another way to explain about the title.
So, the final adjustment and correction would be performed and established not only by precise scaling but also by the information from the sense of the driver's 5 senses including 6th one.

Remember here that too much discrepancy of thrust is corrected by self steer reaction automatically performed by the effect of applied SAI angle and caster angle resulting self steer phenomena, though this is a poor low level conversation.

In case of thrust angle error, there exist two steering  centric position, 1st one is the position to keep straight running that is directed by rear total toe direction, rear thrust and 2nd one is the direction of frontal axle direction frontal thrust. This frontal thrust is dictated mainly by the forces from self steer phenomena on both side.
The displacement of vector directions for frontal and rear axles is called as Thrust Angle.

The thrust angle correction as a final step on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model would be performed by actual running test on the highway by adjusting rear lateral arm adjusting construction moving outside to increase rear right toe-in, the rate would be about 0,300mm to 0,600mm. Now the discrepancy of two positions is about 1mm on steering column.

As for XH200 OPEL B-Vectra established, NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz established unintentionally because of torsion beam rear axle designing and SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza not yet established, also 11AD VW Super Beetle not yet on the way not so far but not so near.

Predominant torsion beam axle

Self toe corrective effect on torsion beam rear axle is perceived while driving NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz apparently. The sticky steering reaction form centric position is recognized like traveling on rut. This phenomena is recommended only when the thrust angle meets within plus minus 20 seconds(angle value), very precise adjustment is required to attain this adjustment with desperate effort, but in case of indecisive axle designing is introduced like torsion beam for rear axle designing, mentioned critical relations is relatively easily established, because the thrust angle error is compensated by the indecision of a deep pocket compliance mainly by the physical property of deformable soft rubber bushes.

Invasion!

The meeting on the site for new laboratory construction would be held with attendance with related companies today. Unexpectedly the engineer from outside attends, that's my son's sense. He has some tendency to invite another dealers easily without my permission?
He dose so the relation with our conventional dealing would be destroyed and causes confusing not a little, his ideas lacks deeper consideration on this point.
The point I want on him is just a lay out of working space only, all the designing of our new laboratory would be done by ourselves, so no good reason exists to invade our dealing this time.

Additionally, no unnecessary device nor equipment would be introduced this time, just a movement of working place only, that is completely different from newly opening the place!
We have established our own dealing relations with our several dealers for 24 years, so new another business chance never exists for outsiders, also no intentions to change supplier into another one. Please give up this time, no business chance!

Steering idler



Steering gear box parts in VW 1302 Super Beetle is the most unlikely to be replaced after exhaustion by wearing out. So, I've been looking for the replacement available parts, finally found out the parts not for 1302 but 1303(early model with conventional worm gear box), interchangeable with some different layout of stopper positioning.

The angular rotational movement inhibiting construction is so designed to set it on idler arm mounting case, on the other hand, the parts for 1303 early model has that on the gear box case inhibiting control arm movement.

Though I had obtained only the gear box in very good condition by YaHoo auction, idler parts was obtained from the same seller and from the same disassembled car additionally. Setting the gear box with stopper for 1303 should be set in combination with the idler without stopper as they were fixed in 1303 originally. It will arrive in a few days from Tokyo.

It goes without writing my 1302 Super Beetle is in good condition except the appearance, on this point the repairing 2 liquid type urethane painting material is prepared with specially color matching by a professional, but with the special thinner for warmer Spring season use.

Success!

I have succeeded in getting out a small babble from breather nipple at ABS unit in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model at noon today, also wheel alignments were checked for thrust angle and checking from frontal direction by see through checking method as mentioned below resulting in no failure and no strange scenery.
I recognized also the activation of cooling fan while stopping at several signals, no problem the sensitivity was the same as before.
There is a steady progress in my skill but a few harvest today.

Error correction

Now I just imagined the way of thrust adjustment in a wheel adjustment procedure, though the thrust angle was so adjusted to establish a critical zero degree by cut and try by adjusting rear wheel toe direction keeping desired total toe-in angle value, there are some impasse actually.
However hard I might make effort on the thrust angle adjustment, the integrity especially measured  putting the standard on frontal trust direction when being driven on the flat and straight road.

Hence, wanna I  adjust rear total toe direction putting the standard on upper point as an experiment.
If it goes well, very actual establishment of critical wheel adjustment would be performed, because all the errors in the dimension that cannot be recognized in the ordinal scaling manner, including the difference between the frictional resistance in the axle gears.
As a next step, I'll proceed to this direction from now.

Lateral Force

In the period of keeping E-211 NISSAN Skyline experienced I some very important physical steering property when I repositioned rear main bar bushes on both side. Following the Car Graphic report on the Nissan IRS in combination with Fair Lady Z, 90 degree different of clacking position. I did it with some determination to replace them in E211 as same as S130 Fairlady Z model.

Thank to the suppression of lateral movement of rear main bar while turning, the steering astringency had far improved like a completely different vehicle. I had realized that the the lateral compliance on rear axle construction affects so much on steering reaction, too much compliance leads to dull, muddy and sticky character.

And tens year later, exactly the same experiment was performed on EP82 TOYOTA Starlet with 3 links rigid axle in combination with lateral rod support, remembering a very special designing of the direction of the rod positioning, parallel to the ground while no burdening, not with oblique direction.

The way of experiments are like these, tapered frontal and rear bushes are fixed in loosened position, positioned but with very soft compliance condition, so the rear fixed and rigid axle relatively easily moves to lateral direction.

In this condition the force from steering rotation  is easily consumed like nothing and after finishing the deformation in softer property the force would be communicated. In another words the dead zone would be clearly appears in steering centric position. The driver would be bored immediately because of dull steering reaction.

Judging from two examples, the lateral displacement and so to speak lateral compliance in rear axle designing have most to do with the dynamic movement of the vehicle especially in the riding taste from the steering reaction.
These are why I deny Torsion Beam rear axle designing based on the distorting and displacing concepts, especially for a sports car or a sports grade model.

Memory in Volvo 244

I just remembered some experience when I replaced Volvo 244 GL steering into genuine smaller one for GT model. Immediately after the procedure felt I some lack of steering stability and soon replaced as it was originally. So the diameter and the weight of wheel had much to do with physical and dynamic reactions for the automobile, the compliance balance had been adjusted even in steering dynamic function.

 Of course perceived I the fundamental disadvantage of the lateral positioning of rear axle caused by lateral oblique positioned lateral supporting rod. Even the weight of residual fuel affected the steering reaction that was an influence by the displacement by the lateral vector produced by some circular movement of lateral rod hinge position. This kind of drifting phenomena might be one of a factor that I could not accept a smaller steering circle?

Smaller circled steering that has some tendency to be fond of by younger age driver dose not always match with any cars, because if some modification might be effective and be no harm to other requirement, factory engineer should have been employed  as a standard genuine design.

I dare describe here that the any automobile in any grade had been balanced utmost with the desperate efforts by the producing factory engineers, so any modification by the outsiders would not take any effect but destroy ultimate balance, no modification at any portion with any different third party party would not be allowed, if the user desires to keep original condition and performance.

Triggering!

Buzzers me again, yes again Babylon bad Jewish smelling Spybot. This hatred bot comes inside of memory in registry, so it cannot be eliminated with ordinal ways. There exists some greedy third party to earn money on the bandwagon that must be connected in the back yard, probably Jews?
Remember 60 years ago, this kind of stack of strange attitude to earn money by Jews might produce the tragedy on earth, take care!

Frozen roads

As the break-in trial on VW air-cooled AD motor with special high octane fuel Showa Shell Pura, the combustion performance became better and better, I feel some over power on this 1600cc Flat4 motor, remembering 40 years that I was a 1200cc standard Beetle user. Unexpected at the beginning of Beetle production except power up modification, the fuel consumption was far less than bore upped 1600cc. So, bigger volume of motor displacement is not always superior in all the physical property especially in fuel consumption. Again feel I the importance of vehicle's total balance at all.

Broadcasting tells many traffic accidents everywhere this morning because of frozen road surfaces, hitting accidents involving rescuse and police cars, oh no!
The temperature outside is the same as that of freezer in a refrigerator!
Wait till tomorrow, the first day of Spring!

Incomplete finishing

Driving in VW 1302 Super Beetle this coldest morning proved the richer idling mixture, because in the atmospheric air condition below 0 degree celsius the combustion performance was excellent without any tendency of coughing or hesitating those were caused by lean mixture.
So, just a little bit opening of air volume adjusting screw opening, 1/16 counter-clockwise rotation.

About newly produced TOYOTA FT86 sports model, I'm going to check the description on 2 types of differential gear ratio, probably the same as SUBARU BRZ, because the constructors are same and the planner of these catalogs must be also the same?
However often I might repeat to consider about the relations between the diameter and final gear reduction ratio, the description is not realistic to satisfy the common sense at all.

As mentioned yesterday, the combination, smaller tire diameter and lowered reduction gear ration, and longer tire diameter and higher gear ratio would produce some completely different character on earth!
For the setting of general commercial vehicle upper settings are most unlikely.
So I conclude that the descriptions I pointed out here in the catalog must be misprints based on misunderstandings.

2 final ratios in SUBARU BRZ

I found out a critically strange description in the newest catalog of SUBARU BRZ, Final gear reduction ratio, 4,100 for 626mm diameter 215/45/17 tire model, 3,727 for 632mm diameter 205/55/16 tire equipped one promptly.

Suppose that the difference of tire diameter might be compensated by different final gear ratio, this is a very natural story with no question, but judging from the printed sentence in the catalog the applications are opposite ways each other, smaller diameter with lower reduction ratio, how come?

The imaginations from the printed number if they are correct ones, there exist some completely different two characters each other on earth!
The printed matter should not be the truth so I conclude.
My opinion on this title here looks as if mine was reinforced by some concrete proof scientifically, yes, based on actual experience.

E-211 Skyline Japan was modified on the motor from L20 to L28, original final gear ratio was 4,110, leading to the result of unbalanced reduction ratio that unstable accelerating reaction, then that was replaced into 3,700 following the ratio of 280 Fairlady Z model with gaining favorable stability on that inconvenient point. Consequently I can say above with some self confidence.

SUBARU stuff promised to reconfirm on this proposal. I'm looking forward to hear the answer from the company.

I'm going to some paint shop to take a specially blended color, Marina Blue for VW 1302 Super Beetle, Two-component urethane paint 1kgr to Eastern OSAKA. The color matching engineer has special skill and some system to mix-up and to blend any special color if the sample color was shown, for myself the covering plate for a car-radio bay covering plate was show, because the color must be kept maintained probably removed at the delivery of this car after setting National receiver with matching to Japanese Medium Wave Amplitude modulation radio waves.

Two-component with chemical changing paint must be difficult and complicated way of using, the spray gun must be cleaned with washing solvent immediately after use otherwise the nozzle with very small holes would be clogged and be lost the performance. Anyway my Super Beetle would be painted with original color and the painting materials, the  specialized urethane color kit and the spray gun for professional use would be prepared today, but remember the thinner ordered this time is not for cold season but for the warmer spring interval.

Miscellaneous thought

The population of smokers has reduced in number recently, but the habit of tendency increases in inverse proportion to the income. So, smoking habit might show also the personality, intelligence? 20% of Japanese population has smoking habit even now, 30% male and 10% female are the ratio in the smokers.

60% of productive companies in Japan would obliged to shrink and to make scale down if the lack of power supply would continue for 3 years. So the selection of the Power Generation method is difficult, Nuclear method might be a choice to survive?

Though I have been paying attention to TOOT(Toe Out On Turn) in wheel alignment a little, because I did it mainly on straight running reactions on steering wheel. Very slight toe-in application on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model had far improved the steering reaction especially on the very beginning of turning phase. This kind of adjustment has much to do with the driving ride taste and the effect has also has much to do with the physical performance of the tire production, the compound and constructive designing, BRIDGESTONE POTENZA 050 tire brand invited on BC7 is in a high performance category.

I conclude that some keen sensitivity is required to establish adequate toe-value that is the most suitable and the more concentration is done if a high performance tire is invited on the vehicle.
The concept that the performance of a vehicle is based on the critical balance of every component of axle geometric construction and wheel alignment establishment.
