Two 60 motors


Two 60 motors were won in Yahoo Auction the other day. One of them is Super Tigre 60 ABC blue head with rear disc valve induction type, as a matter of regret, several amateur lane chest nut marks were observed. Distorted brass cylinder was so corrected with fine tool as to mover smooth at DC piston position, this error might be an original one such as chrome plating error or some thing. Main bearing re-positioning and tightening screw head correction were done. Thanks to my careful and desperate efforts, she have regained her original smooth movement safe. Recent Super Tigre has some tendency to give less clearance between a brass cylinder and piston top than before, the character is similar with Japanese OS ABC.
Another booty is Webra 61 Speed with Dynamix carburetor that is famous for Hanno Prettner' "Curare" in World Championship over 40 years ago.
Remember that Prettner designed carburetor has a fuel acceleration pump construction, so the transient from low to high was so quick incredibly.
As for my Webra 61 Speed, it's front housing was replaced into YS 60SR's one and it was used under fuel pressurized condition. It had a good performance with it's lighter case construction, on the other hand the combustion noise frequency was higher than other 60 motors such as YS 60SR and ENYA 60X.
Because I obtained these motors at some cheapest prices, I'm now in a mood of  good luck.

Suction capability

Bench motors testing gave me some necessity of deeper consideration about the relations between suction capability under the fixed burdening and the diameter of intake venturi. In short, bigger throat does not bring more power, because the requirement of throttle control is the smother transition between low, middle and hi operation. The fact as the upper description was proved on L.M.Cox 15 Medallion motor equipped with OS 25LA carburetor with 4,5mm throat venturi, probably, 3,5 to 4,0 mm might be suitable for the condition of setting Tornado 8 by 4 burdening. But remember here, changing of throat diameter is easily done by just closing a throttle valve at highest position adjusting the Travel rate of motor control on Transmitter. We have some tendency to pay attention only to low speed adjusting, but more attention should be done on highest position. Because, the main needle closing angular position affects deeply on the low speed control adjustment.
The modified main needle valve at a plastic fuel nipple position took effect enough and would endure in actual use, the purpose is eliminating the weight of original one and doing the setting space.
On the other hand, the throat venturi size of ENYA 09-3 with Tornado 7 by 4 was well invited and showed smooth transition of speed control from low to middle and middle to hi, the factory engineer's skilled technique was imagined, the research and development must have done so well.
The necessity to gather certain datum is some indispensable task on this critical researching title, I should carry RPM meter next time.
In addition, same theory might be constructed even on fuel pressurized system like YS regulator and Perry pump system. Deeper consideration should be done!

Events today

I missed some model airplane good in Yahoo Auction last night, a classic ENYA 45S for control line model motor and a main wing kit of YOSHIOKA Aladdin, wrong bidding price settings were the reason or much more enthusiastic modelers defeated me.

A female cicadas wandered into my hobby room by chance, so carefully I caught her gently and released to the direction Toms were fussing annoyingly, because she have to meet with him and to create their important next generation, more over, this is the critical reason for living things to exist on earth. She must have led her survival life under the ground as long as ten years and can live for only few days in outer world. I hope she could meet with some better half and do that in fulfill.

Early bird test driving of 11AD Super Beetle proved that she has a very little thrust discrepancy, that is within 5 minutes to the plus direction, so she goes left side if steering wheel is untouched while straight running. This is the first measuring and adjustment of wheel alignment and geometric axle construction, after the accident of the right side rear trailing arm inner pivot bolt falling down and lost.
This description is now being done with not a little shame .
Any way, the revenge would be performed today utilizing LASER pointer equipped level gauge made by myself for the purpose of measuring the wheel horizontal inclination and direction. Also, vertical inclination, so to speak Camber is done also DIY mechanical pendulum device reading a value 2 minutes angular value per 1 mm on the gauge.
It might be a snag, selfish and arrogant expression, I have a confidential accurate distinction in wheel alignment technology, "I am good and am not second to a Porsche factory sophisticate engineer."
