DOLMY repaired

Swiss made DOLMY Stopwatch has completed safe and successful so much!
It's far from ugly work but like professional one.
Because I have no experience on this kind of work, I wanted to send it to the professional person in Kanto area, he refused to do that if the movement is included being afraid of fracture in transits.
Such kind of accidental destruction might happen while transports especially on the precision devices, have I once on a German Synchro Comper mechanical shutter from Tokyo.
This is why I determined to do the work by myself without disassembling the chronometer.
I must appreciate from the bottom of mind  Mr. N**ai in Sagamihara city, but for his help to share me a precious parts, a shield glass for DOLMY, the work could not be accomplished at all.

Main wing construction

The main wing weak part is connection portion in Pegasus, according to my experience in the former model Pegasus ST, 100 flight invited some irreversible backlashes at the connection between aluminum pipe and holding holes because of the vibration of motor combustion including the stress while maneuvering, both phenomenon occurred, enlarging holes and thinness of Aluminum pipe.
The holding holes should be fitted tight with keeping some smoothness for insertion and disassembling, so to speak contradictory conditions must be satisfied.
I just imagined to apply Microflon, micro grain Fluororesin powder, in the wooden holes intending reduction of  sliding friction.
2 mm nutters would be invested in flying tail Horn portion to make them tightened firmly.
These kind of trifle attentiveness and ingenuity are indispensable for the better maneuver flight.
As Dr. Peter K. Thomas in UCLA said, "A trifle thing might be trifle, on the other hand, piled trifle things are not trifle but worthy enough!".

Escape habit


Swiss made stop watch DOLMY is on the way to be repaired in few days, because found I the replacement parts in Yahoo Auction while Net Surfing, Wind Shield Glass. The seller had huge amount of replacement parts and his advice to me was so warm and kind, also without any intention to earn more money as a merchant. Probably he must be an experienced craftsman with robust craftsmanship philosophy judging from his description of the items, also the prices he shows are not unreasonable rather than contributing in the field.
Some precious descriptions are scattered in his explanatory texts that cannot be written if he has not enough experiences and does not establish his precise technology and contributing phylosopy.

By the way, the Stopwatch is not mine but is committed to be repaired by the retired professor in the Agricultural division a few year ago.
From the beginning I thought it impossible to find out because of so specific and rare item, so it has been throwing away for long time before seeking the parts so consistently, but made a effort, did I a bit. Physical property innately I have, escaping habit might be a reason, I don't deny.
Consequently, I could come across with the seller in the Web Site the day before yesterday, as I have received an information to send me a precious part, it would arrive me at hand tomorrow. Probably, the professor must have forgotten the fact to have given me the item or he might regard me as an unreliable person?
I would like to be recognized by him the truth that there exist a strange person wearing persistent commitment in the world.
Any way I hope he would receive the repaired Stopwatch with surprise, pleasure and smile tomorrow, because he is the very person for not only me but for all his graduates of the University to be loved with the deepest admiration.

Confusion

TOYOTA Caldina AZT241W has covered 150,000 km and she makes me feel some problems in motor and trans axle mounting rubber insulators. Bounce shock stress is conveyed relatively directly. The advantage of this condition is surer steering feel because the heavy masses of the motor and the trans axle is connected directly on the nose portion. I can discern the noise of valve hitting movement while driving meaning the loose of the insulating effect.
The time is come to be replaced as the periodical replacement parts on the motor mounting insulators.
Then what will happen if the necessary maintenance is not performed?
Direct stimulation would be transferred onto the strut upper mount and rubber part would be torn off leading to the dangerous result.
Remember that all the wheels are replaced into new ones costing 100,000 yen the other day, huge expenses. I should use newly replaced tires more two years covering more 50,000 km to meet with the value for the expense.

On the other hand, my son is going to sell his VW Golf GTI model without any problem because he bought HONDA Step Wagon for his convenience to carry around his motor bicycle while long trips.
As an another choice for me, I might use Golf instead of Caldina as a matter of fact.
Now, I'm at a loss how to chose the way standing on the cross roads.

Pegasus Acro on the way

The fuselage and stabilizers, vertical and horizontal were completed for newly building YOSHIOKA Pegasus Acro.
As mentioned before, the designing of main wing is modified to be available for both original aileron style and Flying-Wing, the parts, 4 investing ultra thin radial ball bearing 15-21-4, #7602 and two pieces of 15-13-400 carbon tube.
Considerable expenses make me satisfied.
So, my idea for Flying-Wing in ordinary stunt model is going to be tried on Pegasus Acro. Mixing procedure on the transmitter might be complicated but interesting. The fixed horizontal stabilizer without elevator should be newly fabricated in addition.
I hope I'll enjoy several attempts on the newly constructed model airplane, because this is my own world not to be invaded.
The motor to be introduced would be OS 46 LA with YS fuel pressurized regulating system and the servos would be E-Max 9258 metal geared digital.

A new Idea!

Considering about Flying-Tail construction in Yoshioka Pegasus Acro led me an inspiration the trial on Flying-Main Wing. Recent carbon pipe central connective main wing construction might show me the possibility of FMW idea!
Looping and rolling are done only by the main wing instead of elevator and aileron, interesting! don't you think?
Also sophisticated Radio might it possible set up Flying-Wing program!
Eliminating moving part, ailerons on both side the main wing themselves move and change the angle of attack independently, the fixed horizontal stabilizer loses elevator leading to the elevator servo elimination.
As I'm keeping 50 years old trainer airplane Ikuta Flying Tiger low wing model but fuselage and stabilizers only, the main wing for this would be newly constructed inviting upper idea immediately, motor would be 32 or 25.
An abstract of designing is already rosen up in my mind, I will start immediately to draw the mechanical construction now.
If the result of this trial attempt were favorable, the idea would be introduced in F3A competition models in future.
I wanna see what'll happen ASAP!

Flying-Tail in Pegasus Acro

Yoshioka Pegasus Acro invites Flying-Tail design as it does, the supporting construction is very important, durability, accuracy and 3 dimensional backlashes.
Original designing is 8 mm dia. inner & outer sleeves Aluminum construction, it won't last 100 flight under 45 class grow motor vibration however some grease lubrication might be done well there, destructing energy caused by combustion phenomena should not be made little of even model small motor.
Because of the upper reason, I made up my mind to apply miniature ball bearing on the necessary portions.
Though I tried to follow the original design following instruction manual, only this complicated part was modified as my own. Weight increasing by the changing is very slight not to affect the original performance.
Stabilizers would be completed soon and a residual work is main wing construction, paying the best concentration not to distort at any rate.

Pegasus Acro started

I started to construct YOSHIOKA Pegasus Acro today, and initial step for fuselage is glued up. Wooden parts are well cut by means of LASER system.
Strength and redundancy system are well considered by the professional designer, many small parts are scattered everywhere intending weight reduction.
Very gentle handling is required by some experienced and trained pilot after completion, so this model airplane is not for a beginner but for adequately experienced one.
Pegasus Acro would makes a certain promotion to be controlled well as to participate in the future stunt contests. Very light and relatively large wing area design shows incredibly specific flight.
Because have I several suitable 40 class motors prepared for Pegasus ST model, I'm looking forward to try them on new model.
By the way, Pegasus ST was destroyed after 3 years using by my trifle mistake, vertical, low altitude and motor stop lacking fuel supply, I should not get riding well too much. Loosing power with low altitude leads to a critical crash, this is the same as an actual airplane.

Solex 34 PICT 3 main needle

I've realized that the main needle angular position on Solex 34 PICT 3 carburetor has some sharpened difficulty that has some relations with automatic choke control. As the 3ird party manufactured carb. used Bocar is mounted in my VW 1302 Super Beetle, a principle to adjust the original position 2 and a half turning back from the tightened angular position is not always meet with mine.
Probably, former user of this Bocar might have tighten too much in, so the needle valve hole must have been enlarged illegally.
Consequently, the angular position of main needle valve should be decided by my cut & try method repeatedly, very small and keen adjustment is required under this condition, not impossible but available. 470 degree turning back position of mixture control screw is my setting as a matter of fact.
Though the procedure for it relies on my sense and experience, mainly rely on exhaust smell, too much lean mixture produces excessive Hydro-Carbon and too rich Oxidized-Carbon instead.
Of course, spark firing timing and timing acceleration construction, both vacuum and centrifugal has much to do with the motor's combustion.
Because have I a struggled experience on Weber 40 DCOM side draft  twin carburetor as long as 10 years originally embedded in Peugeot Talbot 205 Rallye, the single carburetor adjustment is not so difficult task for me.
With mechanical Weber side draft twin carburetors, Regular Government Continuity Inspection had been passing instead of Private.
Experienced mechanic servicemen should know how difficult it had been on Earth?
I always say to myself and to my son, only experiences make a man.
Asking anything to others means being stolen precious and indispensable treasures by the others.

Precious rubber cup parts

Ordered brake rubber cup parts arrived from Tokyo for my VW Super Beetle 1302 costing 5,292 yen including Tax. Judging from ordinary common sense for these parts, ten times price, however they are unlikely as 45 years production air-cooled Beetle, how come?
I must inquire the rusting phenomena on the brake cylinder inside wall first, though I didn't neglect to change brake fluid every 3 years, occasionally, honing procedure must be done if the wall might have substantial oxidized deficiency.
Considering conscientiously, the cylinder inner surfaces should be processed by means of Chrome plating technology in to like a mirror, don't you think?
Because I touched everything, imagined I some fine omission work before I begin to change rubber cups into new ones.
In order to  prevent brake fluid leaking, I do insert a DIY 1 mm thickness round rubber pert between the rubber cup and the bottom of a sliding pusher part, counter-measuring 2-step stance.
Let's see what will happen, reporting later.

Used YS 60 FS



Arrived YS 60 FSH motor disappointed me a bit, that was made successfully bid in Yahoo Auction at 2,980 yen without competitors.
There exists no worn away evidence outside probably with very short period of time operation, but the ringed piston has apperent shinny spot at exhaust angular position also at opposite side meaning that the motor had been operated in very critical condition, too lean mixture loosing main needle valve setting. As a common sense, Ringed Piston has enough tolerance between the cylinder wall compared with ABC or AAC, in spite of the advantaged circumstance, the piston has shinny spots around the ring at higher position?
Probably, a former user must be failed in the initial break-in stage and a miserable YS 60 FS motor has been thrown away because of poor performance.
Crank shaft supporting main bearing has uneven ball wear not because of ordinary use but because of operating in the critical condition.
Now, I made up my mind to save this motor and to survive acquiring the original performance as designed by Mr. Yamada.
Removing concave surfaces on the piston wall caused by over-heating handling would be carefully reshaped avoiding unnecessary slipping resistor, piled carbon and sludge would be removed and the main bearing # 6903 would be replaced.
Following the Physical principle these kind of task is not always difficult.
Hoping this weeping and beaten-up motor would fly into the blue sky like a Phoenix in very near future.

OS 40 LA main port




Modification has accomplished on OS 40 LA forming the Schnierle main port successfully. The procedures were done on both cylinder sleeve wall and forming gas way inside the case. Keen concentration and special tools such as Carbide cutter were required to carry it out.
Because this modification is experienced on OS 25 LA motor last year, the task on 40 LA was not so difficult one but not so easy.
Later investigation about 40 LA models proved that the end stage production model has main Schnierle port, that has one piece rear cover plate with the needle valve body, not an independent metallic holding stay.
As I have formed the main port with oblique angled gas way to grow plug direction, manufacturer's design of it is horizontal parallel to the piston top surface.
I'm looking forward to compare my modification with originally 3 ported 40 LA model.

Troublesome wheel cylinder

Very slight stuck feeling just before stopping obliged me to investigate the reason, right rear wheel was the criminal. Though a rear wheel nut loosening procedure required some muscle work, I did it without hesitation.
Finding out some break fluid leak there at leading side sliding pusher portion, cleaning was done on the cylinder inner wall and pushing part on both sides. 
Any anxiety in break system spoils a fun to drive my VW Super Beetle, so the rubber repair kit was ordered to FLAT 4 VW shop in Tokyo before long. Ordered part might be expensive, small and tiny rounded rubber sealing and covering boots cost as much as 1,000 yen?
Anyway, fully overhauling including fluid replacement would be done while the holidays, the end of this year and a new year vocation.

Evasion is worse?

Is it worse to escape or to run away from something?
Is it better to fight or to confront to anything definitely?
Is there any fear to be isolated or to be a village odori?
An inquiry by some 13 years old girl, " Why is it wrong to escape, any beasts go away from things unpleasant or dangerous?" moved me so much.
The cultural society has a tendency not to recommend evasion, for example, a soldier who escaped from strategy front is easily killed by rife shooting done not by the enemy but by friendly force.
Are we obliged to obey blindly the unexplainable manners and customs in peaceful days here now?
Of course I know that, in order to keep some group in peaceful condition, there must be any decisions to be followed, person who cannot accept the Law would be isolated or be bounced off.
We often stand on the point to choose, stay or escape.
A safest way of living in a group is obeying and following the Law, thinking, saying and behaving the same as others.
A person who do not accept decided manners and customs should leave the group.
Incidents and conflicts happen in a Family Society in the World.
Probably, he or she would see another comfortable world outside after that.
So, we don't have any reason to deny to run away, to leave or to escape however difficult to do that in a settlement society.

Oil deterioration at low temp.

Now we got into winter season in Japan and the temperature outside became lower than zero centigrade.
Following the circumstantial change, the physical property of materials changes also especially the viscosity of oils in a car.  As the brake fluid is not made from mineral one but from vegetable one, deterioration and degeneration of liquid material sometime causes clogging in a mechanical constructions, among them operative brake cylinder inside is not be ignored at all.
My VW Super Beetle has drum designed brake systems on 4 wheels, 5 years interval  from the latest maintenance needs periodical checking if the systems keep working, a possibility of one hand operation would be doubted, leading side or trailing side.
I'm going to proceed to a muscle working on the break system maintenance today, but it's relatively convenient for me to do that because the temperature is low and I need some athletic training these days.

Wondering in the Web site this morning, I happened to come across an interesting lecture about Emotional Condition, the comparison between the ancient nomad people lasted for 10,000,000 years till the agricultural race appeared and the settlement ethnicity, lasting for 10,000 years. The influence in people's mind caused by the Settlement Restraint is very impressive and moved me so much and I would like to dig this title a bit more.

Detuned OS 40 LA


I have realized the truth that OS 40 LA motor lacks a Schnierle main port but only side ports aside, how come! ? Instead of 46 LA motor's 3 Schnierle ports?
I understand that the lower graded motor should not have some similar performance and potential with that of higher graded ones from the manufacture's standing poiint of view.
According to the manufacturer's strategy, important and indispensable machining prosess must have been eliminated intentionally.
But, I hear a deep shout by 40 LA motor, " I have much more potential if I'm machined the same as elder brother motors, probably you can do that!?".
So, I determined to do that, with contrary to the maker's speculation, the same procedure had been done on OS 25 LA motor previously and it's performance came to the same revel or more as OS 25 top models.
The original case designing has convex shape for Schnierle main port and the thickness for a main port is enough to be engraved inside.
In order to establish the port on a cylinder wall and engraving gas way inside of the case, keen and fine technologh might be required if it might be done by an outsider manually.
Breakthrough chilidish strategy is one of my exciting pleasure!
The result would be prooved in some model airplane competition scenry.

Detonizzato OS 40 LA


Ho realizzato la verità che il motore OS 40 LA manca di una porta principale Schnierle ma solo le porte laterali a parte, come mai! ? Invece di 46 porte Schnierle del motore LA?
Capisco che il motore con un grado più basso non dovrebbe avere prestazioni e potenzialità simili a quelle di quelle di livello più elevato dal punto di vista del produttore.
Secondo la strategia del produttore, un processo di lavorazione importante e indispensabile deve essere stato eliminato intenzionalmente.
Ma, sento un forte urlo da parte di 40 LA motor, "Ho molto più potenziale se sono lavorato allo stesso modo dei motori fratello maggiore, probabilmente puoi farlo !?".
Quindi, ho deciso di farlo, contrariamente alle speculazioni del produttore, la stessa procedura era stata già eseguita sul motore di OS 25 LA e le sue prestazioni sono arrivate allo stesso entusiasmo o più dei top model di OS 25.
Il design del case originale ha una forma convessa per la porta principale di Schnierle e lo spessore per una porta principale è sufficiente per essere inciso all'interno.
Al fine di stabilire la porta su una parete del cilindro e l'incisione del gas all'interno del case, potrebbe essere necessaria una tecnologia appassionata e raffinata, se potrebbe essere eseguita manualmente da un estraneo.
L'incredibile strategia infantile è uno dei miei eccitanti piaceri!
Il risultato verrebbe dimostrato in alcuni scenari di concorrenza di aeroplani modello.

OS 40 LA & 46 LA con sistema YS

Sono stato sorpreso di aver smontato OS 40 LA e 46 LA, precisamente la tecnologia di precisione, inclusa la precisione e la finitura del getto di metallo, le boccole di bronzo sono state inserite mediante il metodo di fusione simultanea nelle parti necessarie nel caso, supportando l'albero motore. La bussola del cilindro è più sottile al massimo con il metodo di taglio, ma in seguito viene sostituita con il metodo Flange Flange.
Sebbene non abbiano i cuscinetti di supporto dell'albero motore, secondo la mia percezione, non sono sempre necessari per l'uso normale se il motore viene utilizzato 12.000 giri al minuto, piuttosto che essere rilasciato da alcune fastidiose cure di manutenzione dei cuscinetti, progettazione dei motori più leggera e sottile è preferibile se gli spostamenti sono uguali.
100 gr di peso sulla parte del naso fusoliera influenzano una progettazione di aeroplano fondamentale che si riferisce al rapporto momento naso e coda, posizione CG.
L'impostazione di un raccordo di pressione sui carter del motore è uguale a quella menzionata prima della scanalatura della larghezza dell'impulso dell'albero a gomito e della modifica del tamburo del carburatore. I carburatori sono sostituiti da quelli originali a OS 2C per le corse automobilistiche con diametro della gola di 7,0 mm, non solo per la massima potenza, ma hanno il meccanismo di spremitura del carburante all'operazione più bassa.

OS 40 LA & 46 LA with YS system

I was surprised to have disassembled OS 40 LA and 46 LA, precisely fine machined technology including metal casting accuracy & finish, bronze bushes were inserted by means of simultaneous casting method at necessary portions in the case, supporting crank shaft. Cylinder sleeve is thinner utmost by cutting method but later changed into Flange rolling method.
Although they do not have crank shaft supporting bearings, according to my perception, they are not always necessary for ordinary use if the motor is used under 12,000 rpm, rather than I would be released from some troublesome bearing maintenance cares, lighter and thinner motor design is preferable if the displacements are the same.
100 gr weight on the fuselage nose portion influences a fundamental airplane designing relating on the nose & tail moment ratio, CG position.
Setting a pressure fitting on the motor cases are the same as the manner mentioned before including crank shaft pulse width grooving and carburetor throat drum modification. The carburetors are replaced from original ones to OS 2C for car racing with 7,0 mm throat diameter, not only for ultimate power but they have fuel squeezing mechanism at the lowest operation.

ENYA 45 CXL modification



A pressure nipple was set on ENYA 45 CXL with the same manner as ENYA SS 35. Fully disassembled as usual and the crank shaft on intake port was engraved to establish adequate pressure timing for 105 to 160 ATDC pulse width precisely.
Without this modification for YS fuel pressurized regulating system, this motor would lose the opportunity to be used for F3A P19 maneuver pattern purpose.
The mechanism in ENYA G type carburetor with fuel squeezing makes it possible to invite YS system.
Special designing, Aluminum-Chrome plated cylinder and Aluminum piston would  make a good performance and it's longer life.
So, any ordinary motor with fuel squeezing construction carburetor could be possible to operate under fuel pressurized condition.
The throttle barrel throat lower hole was enlarged to prevent orifice effect, this is an indispensable modification for motor stable operation at the lowest speed.
Any main needle valve setting with deception under natural aspiration is not required, because pressurized fuel supply amount would be kept so stable in any attitude of airplane, rising up or coming down, from the beginning to the end of the maneuver. Also, any fuel tank burdening position in the fuselage is acceptable even at tail end, most of the time very near CG position.
It is not notified the true potential and capability of the motor until it is actually used under fuel pressurized condition, once the fuel mixture is decided, the supplying fuel condition does not changed, no matter how rising up or downing phase or the beginning of the maneuver pattern or the last stage.
