Old Opera glass

Old item while Taisho period(1920) comes out from my junk box, probably this was used by a noble woman to watch some theatrical and opera in ancient time before the world wars. The assembly structure by a specific craftmanship with manual one by one assembly does not permit disassembling so easily as in the mass-production goods seen here and there. The failure is the rusty screws set in the center of focusing mechanism, once loosened it would be possible to clear all of the optical lenses in side. Though chemical lubricating material has been applied there, heating method would be done if black enamel paint might be peeled. Anyway, this cute Opera glasses would be repaired and maintained into like new soon.

Old memories

While arranging old luggage found out several instruments and devices for experimental researches of good old age studying and making developing experiments 40 years ago. Greatly am I embarrassed how to treat those old literature and bibles in my field, where to keep or desert all of them? Really interesting memories in my live as a researcher comes up in my mind as if the impressive incidents happened yesterday. I'm too old to open new field aggressively from now, but staying in the situation now is not my favor, find out another way and proceed to different direction from old days, let's consider about that deeply before I go up to heaven.

Impermanence

This morning I have received a bad news that the home being born and raised of my intimate friend was buried in sediment flow because of recording heavy rain these days in Yamaguchi Pref. Tsuwano. He dropped in me just say to his pent-up feeling. Sad feeling of loosing home could be understood not a little by me in the similar condition, I'm loosing my villa in the mountain. I was busy yesterday to carry out the baggage of memories with some pay back of shoulder and arm muscle pains, some of them were deserted thinking of regret at parting now. All are impermanence following time flow and power of nature.
Not a few tome of a famous professional medical field were piled in my garage, how shall I take care of them?

Superb OPEL B-Vectra

Early this morning I drove XH200 B-Vectra for the first time in a long period, impressed I was as usual especially on the total balance as a passenger's car. Though some trust angle discrepancy remains probably around plus 30 second angle value, it has superb capability to satisfy myself at all. Shock absorbers are replaced into Monroe Reflex lust year, they plays very well in combination with original suspension coil spring's physical property. Designing the well balanced compliance is one of a very professional job to be required a supernaturally special abilities with keen five senses. I want to send the praise to the OPEL factory professional engineers who had participated in this production program with struggling to rise in the blood. I don't know the car to be wanted to continue all through my life, except B-Vectra.
There is no possibility nor room that the better results might be obtained if any remodeling by an outsider might be applied on the original complete car, except narrowing the factory constructive tolerance errors, the less the better. This is why I insist on wheel alignment correction especially on Zero Thrust condition.

Air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle had some operation in replacing knuckle ball joint boots on both side and produced very slight discrepancy in thrust angle, because the sway bar bush clumps were loosened and re-tightened for the working convenience inviting positioning error. Thrust angle adjustment must be performed again by the rear trailing arm length regulations. Even so, the quality of rubber boots material is not well controlled in the imported parts, it might be better to replace them into domestic company made ones prior to setting if the replacement accessory parts might be new avoiding double efforts? Time, labor, cost, motivation and persistence are required if the user of passenger's car want to drive at it's ultimately best condition of designed specifications.

Time passes


Knuckle ball joint boots in VW 1302 Super Beetle have replaced safe, of course Chrome Molybdenum grease material was fulfilled inside. Because I have perceived the boots fracture before ball joint was invaded by rust attack, it's smooth function was not lost. Replaced rubber boots made in Japan, Ohono Rubber Company has enough capability and capacity to be moved continuously and rotate in every turning phase, in addition it has a small grease nipple for additional lubrication. I would be relieved by this measure for the time being.

I'm obliged to organize my villa in the mountain side, yes the upper construction would be destroyed soon and be sold as a flat ground. The place that supported me for a long time would be disappeared, my corner stone of heart would be deserted. I will participate in the gathering there tomorrow with some loneliness. Memories of good days will not remain after the affair.

Week end work

An instrument for measuring the wheel horizontal inclination is going to be improved for easier setting in the phase, supporting is a tripod construction of the device in photographic field, it will be soon finished.

As the ordered parts ball joint rubber boots have arrived by way of internet dealing, knuckles on both side of VW 1302 Super Beetle would be disassembled, also the lower arm hinge bush condition should be inspected because of relatively vulnerable capacity construction, too small to support the intense shock from the ground.

All of the languid Houseplant in working place have survived for my hearty cares, to tell the truth, of course it was fully advised by on of an intimate professional landscaper. Following his advices, almost deserted plants are all alive and in good spirits.

My garage has some smell of human waste these days and it need some ventilation in every morning, probably, duct or pipe might be clogged at all, my garage has no toilet, so I have to ask the neighbor to flow some amount of water to penetrate the way thoroughly, otherwise, this unendurable condition will continue.

Facilitator


40 years old air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle never let me feel relieved, inconveniences occurs one after another at all. Probably this oil leakage must have been brought by a lack of crank shaft oil seal breakage. I must see where it is set in what size of oil seal parts from now.
Knuckle arm ball joint boots part are coming to me today and they would be replaced immediately applying Chrome Molybdenum grease lubricant inside. Also backlash in the ball joint coupling would be carefully checked.
Strange mold smell nourished under and inside of the rear fire wall insulator has thoroughly eliminated by my own desperate efforts the other day. Now the cabin of Super Beetle is filled with a smell of butyl rubber applied on the wall in stead of the insulator material.
Though running straight in Zero Thrust condition is acquired,  some wondering phenomena still now remains, probably that is caused by some backlash in wheel hub bearings and rear trailing arm hinge bushes. Actually, heavy muscle working would be waiting for me, to tell the truth, I have obtained these parts, bearings and rubber bushes as periodical replacement parts. Waiting for the time to proceed on the difficulties, just waiting the timing to be forced by something, physical strengthening and charging of willpower.

Difference in experience

The difference of experiences makes disagreements in our business, because the standing points of views are different. My business style is based on 40 years in specific professional field mainly in the laboratory, on the other hand my son has only 3 years period of time in clinical practice. He must be in his self-satisfaction that he can do anything as he wants that is the same mental condition as I had been in his age. He might be too early to have his own working place rather than he studies outside and picks a lot of experiences from now. Does he really come back to OSAKA next year? I don't think so, judging from his actions and behaviors. Let's see what will happen from now.

Joint boots




Knuckle ball joint boots would be replaced on the right side axle of VW 1302 Super Beetle because of fracture probably by the chemical aggression included in added Chrome Molybdenum grease. I have some prejudice that rubber materials in imported parts has some tendency to be destroyed relatively easily by some external stimulus and secular change comparing with Japanese brand production? In order to prevent the wear on ball joint connection, any dust invasion into the joint should be avoided, so the measure for this kind of inconvenience should be done soon after boots fracture was found. Knuckle assembly parts had been replaced 3 years ago as periodical maintenance, rubber boot could last only that short period of time. Ball joint parts last us so long if lubrication material like grease is not depleted. OHNO Rubber company product with a grease filler nipple would be ordered by way of Internet distribution, let's see what will happen.
Writing about ball joint boots, I just remembered my experience on XH200 OPEL B-Vectra's rear lateral arm external joints. Two of four ball had been worn because the tone rubber boot allowed the invasion by muddy water inside of delicate slipping surfaces. As a matter of fact, all of the  ball joint assembly parts were replaced inviting special tool for the work, ST was devised and created by myself utilizing disk brake caliper pistons for TOYOTA GX71.

Consequently we cannot be too careful to paying attention on the condition of joint boot wherever it may be.

Errant

Though XH200 OPEL B-Vectra needs much more fine wheel alignment adjustment, almost of my keeping cars have obtained some ideal axle constructive setting these days especially on "Zero Thrust" condition. As for my son's cars, BRZ has some problem on rear brake caliper, because he applied used no genuine ones on the rear suspension and banjo bolt had been destroyed on screw thread by the former owner, so there exists some anxiety on the connections. Basically, too much braking power invites some tendency to spin in rough handling phase. My opinion on the problem is to replace the rear caliper into original ones for safety. But he turns a deaf ear to me as usual, how come? He must remember that the brake system in a automobile is the most important mechanism that the most important one to be relied by the passenger's lives.

He is going to absent from our Buddist memorial service on next month, making a trip is the reason? He must pay much attention to a long intimate relationships with relatives, so he should stop playing on the way to spare the time for the ceremony, any way will do, by air, by train or by car, he must come back here to KYOTO at any rate! He should understand and read the atmospheric conditions. No apology is allowed on earth! This is my duty to make him understand our intentions and to change his future planning. I would give him a round-trip travel expenses in stead of him. Anyway he must come back at that moment and he must take part in the ceremony

Politics and future

Liberal Democratic Party has won in Upper House in the election yesterday and Politic flows in a certain direction with less resistance conditions from now. Constitutional amendment would be performed sooner or later, then what would happen on Japanese people? We are not always in the bad state under the aegis by US, our Constitution of Japan had been enacted by General Head Quarter(GHQ) while we were Occupied Japan period. The figure now our country does not resemble to a children who is forced to be an independent under the old parents?

Inconvenient motor response in air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle obliged me to adjust sparkling timing correctly. 14 degree BTDC was delayed into 11 degree BTDC. Smooth and comfortable motor response and firing combustion were the result, climate change and contact point mechanical construction require some periodical adjustment if it's continuously best condition. Right side glass vertical sliding friction must be removed by adjusting it's setting position three dimensionally. In order to fix the steering stability while straight running, a backlash in drag link must be removed by setting spacer ring with polyacetal resin plastic material or with putting some adequate shape ball bearing parts on both ends upper and lower shaft ends. Movable and too simple construction of stabilizer bushes might be one of a reason? Rear trailing arm bushes can be criminals possibly?

BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi needs also door glass adjustment on frontal right power window construction, because, it makes noise with fully grass downed in running condition. As this phenomena has been continued since it had been new, I dare do that with precise positioning adjustment. In addition, lubrication on the mechanical construction of power window would be also performed.

The determination to do anything by myself that are possible for me occupies almost of my free time, so it never allows me to spare the time for studying about Statistic Analysis.

Research environment

I have some tendency to concentrate too much in mechanical construction of machinery and to repair and to restore broken ones, so I feel that it is the time to change the way of thinking, I might have gone astray too much into only one direction. I happened to come across with a book titled "Statistics is the strongest learning", the writer had been done in the field, "Cakes" in contents platform as a Series of "Statistical algorithm".
Looking around my living circumstance, a study environment like paradise are in place, because some Professor, a lecturer are living here in my neighborhood as intimate friends. It's like that I'm sitting on a pile of treasure! They say nothing to me about an academic statistic around the days, because I don't ask academic and professional questions, just talking about, talking about the low time occurrences. They must be willing to fit themselves with my lower dimension. Remembering the fact, I determined to study much deeper on Statistics, because no question would occur in myself if I don't study nor practice. In another words, studying makes questions on the way if I do it really and seriously.

Change my emotional condition

It is not so stuffy as usual this morning in the hottest season in OSAKA, a work to some extent must be done before Sun rises high, otherwise higher temperature and stuffy humidity prevent us to work well.
As some residual work for air-cooled VW1302 Super Beetle, sliding grass position on the right side fine adjusting removing inner layer cover and left side door catch positioning adjustment must be performed. Friction resistances on both mechanical construction should be removed setting them in their adequate positions and lubrication.

Very peaceful 8 days have passed and again my conventional daily life would be started, the reason is --- as a matter for regret, my Xhanthippe comes back home this evening from a trip to Northern Europe, she must be on board in the airplane now to Kansai International Airport, let's change my emotional condition as before, any unreasonable request must be accepted without any complaints. For 2 to 3 days, she continues to complaining linger due to the jet lag. I must gibbet myself in front of her running amuck, It's nothing but a mental and physical training for me.

Miscellaneous thoughts

I have come to a conclusion that restoring old car and purchasing new car are almost the same price in the end if we don't count labors to do that and eye-opening improvements in sophisticated automatic trans-axle and fuel consumption. Recently, trans-axle design has much improved inviting DSG system in Europe moving away from long lasted Torque Converter Automatic Trans-axle system. Direct cylindrical injection, piled Supercharging system technology have make it possible to establishing fuel economy, incredibly less then a half compared with conventional system.
As a next attempt, I'll buy new car if my keeping cars would die in future, with the newest and most improved system except Hybrid nor activated with electric motor.

Residual task for air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle are trailing arm hinge bushes on both side, rear hub bearing lubrication, broken knuckle ball joint replacement and clutch linkage lubrication in the center floor tunnel, the goal is at my hand, so let's make efforts from now.

My son is now crazy in TOYOTA Cresta that is two generation old car defeating tinker, making some critical hitting noise because of it's crank shaft supporting bearing wear, it is not an alive car but dead one that has no meaning and no worthy to invest any more, so I perceive. When do you wake up, my son! Keeping a car that some love is not divided leads to any big traffic accident. This one should be used in the closed circuit, so you must not apply number registration, but he turned a deaf ear to me, just it's miserable, because I don't want to receive any news of accident and I'm always in the anxiety.

11AD Super Beetle maintenance

Lubrication on the clutch linkage connected with clutch pedal portion would be performed today, construction is simple but disassembling complicated hinge rod would be required. Motor oil 5W-30 would be replaced also would be done adding Microflon powder a bit. Hitting noise on left side door inside was eliminated after applying lubricant on the connective linkage, so the origin of slapping sound has been brought by door checker construction. Tappet cover on the right side shows a history of oil piling, so oil sealing gasket there would be replaced, on the left side bank, already done last year before the Legal Inspection. Though very hot out side and my pit has sauna hot temperature, I would make efforts also today.

Accidents

Cluster destruction of HD in my computer prevented me from describing daily blog yesterday, but thank to my son's effort to recover it's function, internet circumstance in my own working place was recovered last night. He insists some payback for his reward on this work, how come, i7 CPU & newest mother board at 60,000 yen. So, my broken computer required very high repair cost. Never to spend a plenty of money if there are no immediate family to the unreasonable requests, because I often come to this conclusion, our quarrels does not die.

As for the operation on VW 1302 Super Beetle's interior, long lasted and being suffered strange mold smell has almost disappeared by my own desperate efforts on a unfamiliar works. In addition, unexpected emergency surgery in my medical business had strayed on Saturday in the morning, I was exhausted both physically and mentally, actually it took time unusually in the process, leading to breaking my health condition a bit, I was ill in bed all day long before yesterday, as to make me feel not to do anything. Though I don't recommend that I have come to the age of feeling the decline of physical fitness.

Affairs yesterday

Critical problem happened on my main computer this morning, how come? It does not start at all, AD-Aware and Spybot SD programs ran last night, that were the reason for the malfunction? While booting up I might have pushed the starting switch by mistake. Now I know how much did I rely upon Inter net system for my own daily life. I'm completely in holding up condition!

On air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle, I realized that some brake oil might have happened on the right front operative cylinder portion, too shinny adjusting gear made me doubt the dysfunction at that time, further inspection disassembling frontal drum by loosening hub nut later it was too much sensitive reaction, my anxiety, operating cylinder assembly replacement, was in vain. Brake shoe touching surfaces with the drum inside were good finished with even wear. Though I almost gave up to come home in VW 1302 Super Beetle last night, I could do in it, testing the effect of insulation applied on the bulk head and the floor instead of original fur material resulting the rubber material would be available as an alternative application. I knew that an even narrow crack on the floor permit the noise invasion especially with higher frequency from road and tire and trans-axle gear operation.
In order to prevent the further invasion by rusting, anti-rust painting would be applied  prior to rubber sheet material adhesion onto bulk head and floor. In addition, some cavity was found after removing old material(terribly smells of mold), I am about to apply there some rubber material for example nylon hose. Anyway, reconstruction of Beetle's cabin is well undergoing. I realized that almost of strange mold smell has removed after these treatment.

A modified Minolta MD Zoom lens 35-135 performs well unexpectedly, especially in the scene of the shooting Stage with it's adjustment range of view angel. Though it has no auto focusing mechanism, it is available even now with good weight balance with Canon EOS 7D body.

VW Beetle & Minolta lens

Excessive frontal toe value on VW 1302 Super Beetle was corrected into 0,78mm(from 2,50mm in) in direction this morning, generally, total toe value in frontal axle affects on the steering response while turning on the curvature in the transitional phenomena, because it has much to do with Toe Out On Turn angle as a matter of fact. In order to obtain a natural and transient reactions at various speed(mainly at town speed) curve-in and curve-out phase. Insulator application on rear bulk head and floor would be carried out subsequently today.

I won the bid of YaHoo auction on Minolta New MD Zoom 100-200 at very cheap price, only 100yen, feeling sorry against the seller. I'm surprised again to have received the item, it's like new and any defects in this lens were not found at all. Because of lack of flange back distance if set on Canon EOS Digital body, Minolta's silver salt period optical parts do not focus at infinity point. 0,50mm shorter lens set ting position makes the value of MD and MC lenses descend like nothing. This is why they appear in the auction at the cheapest prices. To tell the truth, discrepancy of infinity position can be compensated by lens element adjusting mechanism, removing adjusting sim plates or 1 step turning the helicoid groove in the most difficult designing, depending on the type original design. As for this 100-200 Zoom, sim plate insertion method might have been introduced. For long period of time the same optical designing had bee applied should mean that this one has good enough physical property to satisfy the requirement recently. It would be modified as usual very soon, I'm looking forward to ascertaining it's capability if used on Digital formatting image.

Measure for mold smell

Unendurable strange mold smell obliged me to remove the origin of the failure, all the insulating material was peeled of and stripped thoroughly yesterday. Piled trash occurred bad odor as imagined, this kind of inconvenience happens on classic cars being struggled to measure, there is some tendency that the phenomena is proportional to the age of production. There is no easy way to measure the problem well except eliminating the source of the origin---mold living somewhere in the cabin, it might haunt in seat cushioning material deep inside?
Removed insulating material is utilized to copy and duplicate the same shape on the prepared rubber sheet. As the applications of this insulating material must have been designed by the original VW engineer after some adequate experiments and researches, no omitting of these important parts are allowed to establishing good compliance for NVH concepts and principles.
As my garage has no air conditioning system except fan, working here is just like in a Sauna bath in this Summer season, early in the morning and after sunset are the times to do.

Operation on VW1302 Super Beetle


Exactly the same phenomena happened to air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle(minus 0,840 minutes thrust angle corrected) as another cars I had done before after establishing it's wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry, so the mechanical construction of driving wheel does not matter on the phenomena whatever wheel might be driven even with 4 wheels driven design. Though wanna I conclude on this phenomena "Driving train does not affect on the steeling stability while straight running", further experiments would be waited if it should be concluded scientifically on earth, more precise devices with more accuracy and repeated attempt would be necessary.
In order to adjust the thrust angle of Super Beetle, rear trailing arm outer axis was extended and shortened on the circular movement by rotating the trailing arm with the inner hinge axis point, though wheel base change happens at the same time. But, the rear axle construction does not permit independent adjustment promptly.
Also, mechanical constructive design on steeling system, no matter how it is Rack & Pinion or Worm Gear box type does not affect on the fundamental character of steeling centric stability.
Today, some fine parts adjustment on Super Beetle and the arrangement of removed parts from former working chair would be the tasks.

Returned Super Beetle has some critical problem I cannot accept, it's mold smell I hate most. Making up my mind to remove all the fur board insulator including thin plaster plates. Relatively thick rubber sheet would be a good alternative material that I have been keeping for my working place construction, some plaster board for architectural building material would be applied in addition to rubber preventing motor noise invasion. This countermeasure for mold would be looking forward work in future, so motor noise would come into cabin for the time being.
By the way, my Super Beetle has a big inspection window on the rear floor, this rectangular hole had been formed later for air conditioning system to set condenser horizontally here, I removed all of the retrofit system, tail down figure by the heavy compressor and the condenser with blower are not my favorite, before that a huge size compressor occupying motor room prevents me from easy access for maintenance. Consequently, the big hole is not closed completely for the maintenance convenience.

Lifting machine

Full-fledged professional garage jack was brought here in my place yesterday, this is from a professional car painter who did on my VW 1302. It was a first attempt for him to restore a classic car like Super Beetle, he did well and the given machine is one of a reason for apology on too much expenses for his work. Used as this machine is, no malfunction nor wear on sliding and swinging moving parts were observed, so it would last me long and the residual life span of this lifting machine might be longer than mine. Of course, all the moving parts, sliding and swing movement were lubricated by splaying grease. Air pressure assisting construction would be of help to a geriatric like me.

VW1302 returned new


Air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle has come back becoming completely clean with new painting same as original Marina-Blue. More precise wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry must be attained, before that, lower arm stabilizer bushes, anti-rolling bar bushes and strut upper mount on both side must be replaced, rubber parts there are already more than 40 years old and upper mount has some crack line on the right side in spite of replacement two years ago. Steering gear box must be eliminated by adjusting the corresponding screw inside of frontal bonnet.

I have some regret that I did all painting procedure with plenty of money, because there was a choice to use my Super Beetle in the original painting condition though she had some rusting spots on the outstanding facial portion, because her fundamental performance has not changed at all just only the appearance. Anyway, further maintenance from now would be performed for the ideal complete condition.

All settled down

All the new equipment have settled down on my working place and my son went home to Seki City in Gifu Pref. late at night yesterday after adjusting wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry in TOYOTA Cresta produced 10 years ago. Now my garage is vacant and clean, but I feel some loneliness and emptiness a little in spite of being disturbed my peaceful living environment. Basically recommend I that he might do anything he want to try except any danger nor dirt in the unpredictable accidents.
As new machinery for our business has been introduced according to his desire, probably come back to OSAKA he would in near future? Next year? It's annoying for him to be expected in future, so I would not do that too much.

Air-cooled VW Super Beetle 1302 would come back to me with becoming clean and beautiful like new car. Painting and inner covering cloths replacing procedures have over, so informed last Friday. As I said to the worker he may do anything on the Beetle if he feel and determine without negotiating with me, I must prepare some reasonable expenses. I'm afraid to know the price taking care of my eyes and ears not to fall down.

Generosity

Exhausted yesterday as I was, I have come to my working place early in the morning by train, because my garage has been occupied by my son's strange car.
The affair yesterday was over with a little troubles, new machinery system has introduced in my working place, 2 of 5 were replaces into different model advised by my son. Because the designing concept is completely different from conventionally equipped in us, there is only a sense of discomfort for me, so, new system would be the most unlikely to be used by me.
In addition, he insisted to make up the wheel alignment and axle constructive geometry so precisely as to the condition of my cars that had been adjusted and finished taking time with several days and hours.
He had believed in that it was possible to do that while the replacement work of the business machinery, impossible at all. Consequently, I was a miserable person with hard double.
On the other hand, I will have some loneliness after he comes back to Seki City in Gifu Pref., because I would not have this kind of experience if I don't have a son. How is my heart that holds by contradiction? My father was so generous to me probably because with the same sense as I have to my son.

Taking care of an infant

New machinery for our business are going to be introduced into the working place today, in spite of such a extraordinary & serious condition, my son asked me to make my garage vacant, how come, he is coming back to OSAKA in a car from Gifu Pref. He must have a planning that he would take care of his car by himself, now he is crazy in car modification as his hobby, while machinery replacement works are undergoing? He should be the leader today of the construction site here, he has no permission to escape nor neglect his business, he cannot play as he likes ignoring extraordinary atmospheric and environmental conditions around. Suppose that the situations are  reversed, invited workers today in severe condition should feel how would be the personality and dignity of the owner, not of mine but of his shall be? The machinery replacement with huge expenses is not my desire but my son's! I would take part in this affair today because not to play as an owner but to monitor my son's strange and stupid attitude, why must I pay attention to him on a trifle matter on earth, he is not a kid but an adult person on earth, how come?!

Stress

New model of working chairs would be introduced tomorrow in my place and I would be an ultimately busy person this end of week. This consideration is one of a strategy to make my son come back to OSAKA who is now playing his life in country side at Seki city in Gifu Pref. To tell the truth, I don't always agree this kind of cheating replacement of equipment, because the instruments here are now working well without any mechanical problems though 25 years interval has passed since their production. Because of the difference on the principle in designing, I will not get accustomed to use new models even after new introduction of different equipment, they would be only some obtrusive obstacles for me. But, I will have to keep working in this inconvenient circumstance at least for more 10 years from now till he would replace with me, how come? I must find out the way to break unexplainable stress.

A target of hobby

The object of experiment loses it's passion if the result is once obtained, that resembles the phenomena after the love affair, the same thing is said if prepared period might be long as occupying over half of my life span. So, I must seek and find out another new object that could be last several period of time after loosing former one however long it had been, because my residual life time is limited and too short to be carried out.

The object was overcome the other day that has been lasting over 40 years, "Establishing Zero Thrust in vehicles". Then, what would be next for me to have from now as a fascinating object?
The research in "Air foil" is one of a choice in my mind, making progressed airfoil main wing as a Radio Control model airplane, fly it and feel the difference actually carried by sophisticated lib shape character of the flight. Interesting hobby play, don't you think?

A difference of generations

A difference of generations makes differences in business strategy leading to some discord and conflict in the same working place. Any difference in education, principle and technology might be the reason, but I didn't find them so far as I had check the education content especially in the implementation of  National exam question 8 years ago.  It means that a little progress nor improvement had been performed in our medical field on earth?
Anyway, the dispute due to difference in each generations are happening everywhere in every fields. My son is moved and influenced much by the hypes by commercial strategy of related companies, they could do anything if it links to their profit, do you remember? Young person need some period of time to have some capability to perceive the stretch lie or long dropping deception after some experiences? As for my opinion on that, he should have much opportunity to know the truth and the fact by  consulting himself, making researches and experiment also by himself, because the only results he could obtain by himself would be son true and good supply for himself.
Remember that the information that is useful actually does not exist in advertizing commercials but in the articles that had been examined by careful inspections by adequate Referee in the academic Society, even though it is very difficult to seek and to find out the useful and worthy papers in the broad see like Pacific Ocean filled with pile of garbage. Anyway, feeding the eyes to see through not the only opinion but the truth and the fact is the first for young people ASAP.

Results on Thrust Angle adjustment

Before the memory of thrust angle adjustment fades, I must write down the important matters that would not be known if it was not performed with precise work that step-by-step procedures.

The evil feeling while straight running does not disappear till final 6,60 second angle value of thrust discrepancy should be corrected.

The discrepancy within 18,5 seconds does not affect on the steering centric position apparently, but some drifting phenomena at the centric position, very slight as it was, recommended.

Steering centric position is affected by uneven tire wear, conicity, not a little, so some distance break-in running for every adjusting phase was necessary to forget lasted bad habit on the tread surfaces for 4 wheels, at least 50km.

Under-steer habit that is an innate habit of 4 wheel automobile is emphasized after the establishment of wheel alignment and constructive axle geometry.

It becomes easier to grasp and know the actual positions of 4 wheels, so the adjusted car is perceived like driving a much smaller car, easy to control especially in case of narrower road driving.

No wondering movement while stopping and starting is observed if the road surface is flat.

Road noise from the ground reduces and the result would contribute to save fuel consumption?

As a common sense, in order to invite some conclusion, appropriate scientific methods must be introduced in the field of Science, standing some temporary imagination, examining the experimental methods and materials, performing the procedures correctly on every step and experiment is carried out without any perjury, analyzing the datum correctly, and again, the deepest considerations should be done on each steps from hypothesis to analysis, then only be caught some suggestion or some tendency that is far from firm conclusion. So, the result dictated here is only a case report, so being recognized.

Discussion on BC7

It is often the case just describe a dream as if we can do easily without desperate effort that we cannot realize actually as I have been so till the other day. I could not imagine what kind of drive feel and steering reaction should be obtained under Zero Thrust condition, because I didn't have any experience on unknown situation that never happens in extremely lowest probability less than 3/1,000.
Let's say it like this, "Matching and duplication of the car's core & the center of the human 6th sense."
Long desired dream has come true the other day, as long as over 40 years period of time. I have come to know the different world driving the same car as before. And my sense to perceive the discrepancy of thrust angle even at 6,6 seconds, though the direction of it could not tell clearly.
Now I feel like that it is no worthy to drive any other passenger's car than my BC7 Legacy LSi that had been adjusted firmly on wheel alignment in Zero Thrust condition. Then how have I been before thrust adjusted BC7? How had I been getting along with cars that had been keeping for more than 40 years? Once the way is opened to establish the "Zero Thrust" condition, I would apply this principle to all the car I'm keeping now and the same procedure would be performed on future automobile I would purchase in future.

Driving this morning BC7, I feel lack of self independent self stability in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model while straight running and this is written after some adequate measurement and adjustment in precise technology, so, the phenomena should not caused by poor condition of the axle constructive geometry and of discrepancy in wheel alignment at all. In order to obtain the stability supported by caster trail, the fundamental it's value must be increased in number, but the measure had been performed by moving the frontal main bar anteriorly 5mm extension already forming 2,585mm length wheel bases on both side, still now feel it's unstable bad taste while straight running, then as for motility that is the two side of the same coin in the relationship, not so much, how come?  The reduction of frontal caster angle could be imagined before modification this time from lower height Imprezza GDB to BD5 RS with longer suspension springs. More compliance could obtain comfort ride but lost caster angle leading to unstable straight running. This is the reason we don't see first generation SUBARU Legacy model very seldom and almost of them had been in the trash?
Though this kind of compromising and difficult works should be done by some adequate professional factory engineers for new model designing, I am about to solve this problem to establish stability while straight running. More tossing and rolling period of time might be required to know the fact and to correct the error?  The knuckle part replacement into later model's one for later Legacy BH is one of a choice for next strategy?

Yesterday

Zero thrust condition was established firmly on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model after toe-in values on 4 wheels in combination with rear total toe vector direction. The final adjusting thrust value was 0,110 minutes(6,60 seconds angle value), very slight discrepancy as it was, apparent change of steering reaction was obtained after adjustment. The smaller the error becomes, the more keen and desperate concentration is required to adjust precisely. The result would be rewarded if the work is daringly performed without giving up not compromising, however smaller the error value might be. Considering the physical property of rubber parts applied everywhere in axle construction, some periodical checking and adjusting of wheel alignment should be recognized as an essential work to keep a car in healthy condition.

I participated in the 1st Cultural Exhibition held at Sakai Sophia in the after noon yesterday. I happened to come across with the opportunity to appreciate Japanese Classic Dance played by some professional dancer in beautiful Japanese ancient formal clothes there. Her fascinating movement of every parts of her body component while dancing were so impressive as to move audience enough to take applause. Every movement of the action is calculated and estimated paying attentions to the principle, acting, the entrance, the extension and the stop. The allocations of velocity and acceleration on finger tip and body action are so exquisite ultimately. She must be nothing but a professional dancer Nichibu field with historically and traditionally venerable School in Kyoto.
