ABS activated


Emergency stop this morning activated ABS system in XH200 OPEL B-Vectra keeping distance 1m with a reckless bike at some cross section on the  way to my labo. 
He must have concept that any automobile in front of him at any speed should stop with some distorted principle of bike priority. And the motion of stopping an automobile would be the same as a lean bike? Anyway he will be selected in natural law sooner or later in the traffic war not by me but by some another driver.
 

The hare in front of BMW Mini interrupting traffic should be run over in order to avoid rear-end accident by New Mercedes 300E. Why a cause of serious traffic accident have to be a trifle hare on earth, any possibility of dangers leading to disastrous result must be eliminated if it accompanies with some animals life, human being is the first.
A strange advertisement by Mercedes this time involving competitor's company is not so adequate to appeal the capability for safety, but some primitive, childish and maneuver planning would not be accepted, just a stale way on earth. 


The lock of my apartment is activated by some electric method with trans-receiving mechanism that is the same safety construction with TOYOTA Celsior, also noticing the lowered voltage below 2,54 volt on 2032 cell battery with 3,0volt.
Voice announcement noticing both at the entrance and at my room gate obliged me to replace batteries, as 20 is diameter 20mm and 32 means thickness of 3,2mm, so even 2025 cell battery may be interchangeable judging from the construction of of the terminals in cell box.

Photos



For the sake of test driving of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model after toe-in adjustment, drove I deeper in the mountain accompanying with Leica M9 Digital camera.
As some shooting scenery I looked for impressive places covered with snow not fully but partially.
The lenses used were Summicron 50mm, Elmarit 90mm and Elmar 135mm.
How are the results of these submissions as an amateur layman photographer?

Interests

NHK TV program "NHK Special" showed very interesting one last night, for time immemorial ancestor of human being. I was taught the origin of us was Neandertal or Cro-Magnon man half a century ago, but that was Homo sapiens with invention of throwing equipment that exists even now in Australian native Aboriginal.

 Probably the deepest considerations in various direction and mainly Genetic decoding of the nucleotide sequence made it possible to change and replace conventional common sense, as such the remarkable advances of Natural Science here. Also how our origins spread from Africa through Europe destroying former occupants until fulfilled to maximum.

And the use of the equipment was changed from the hunting device to the weapon to fight and kill each other and finally that was utilized as some riot deterrent flood. Simple summing up depending on the bulk of brain proved the limited number of a human being group should be 150 in total, very interesting on earth. For example, an original sets of them from a new Impreza GC8-GDB that invited in my BC7 US model play a good performance as a sports model's axle suspension.

But the setting for 2000cc Turbo supercharging is the edge of my acceptability of comforts, especially it make me feel to hard when tired after work.
As the toe-in adjustment, additional 1,5mm yesterday made me determine to continue BC7 more 2 years from now.

As for some further axle adjustment for VW 1302 Super Beetle, lateral offset of frontal axle construction must be measured and adjusted by moving left side strut construction itself laterally outside to accomplish the relation of ZERO thrust angle, and after that the  final toe-in adjustment would be performed. The state of it's motor and trans-axle is favorable.

Recovery BC7

As a trial experiment, applied I more 1,3mm toe-in on frontal wheel alignment before the renewal of geometric construction in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model  this morning. This was the BINGO result unexpectedly at all! All the strange reactions while turning at various speeds are disappeared and braking phenomena like resistance slip did not happen.

So the planning in this morning has changed undone though there remains some too hard reaction because of stronger spring a bit, not STI but SUBARU genuine parts from new car had been equipped on my BC7.

Straightness might exceed that of OPEL B-Vectra, FF model with European wheel alignment setting, frontal camber 60 minutes and rear one 90 minutes promptly, on the other hand BC7 has 15minutes and 40 minutes cambers F/R promptly.

Only 1,3mm(tire position scaling) to-in application has improved the steering response and property considerably. Just an imagination shows the effect on slipping angle, TOOT and sliding friction resistance in any phases.

As a conclusion, I will continue US Legacy as it is with no more modifications for the time being, as good replacement parts for her are all prepared in stock room occupying relatively large area in my villa.

As for brake fluid leak that I came across a few weeks ago, no liquid like material was observed around the hose and pipe connecting areas however hard I might try to find out any dysfunctions, the countermeasure by aluminum sheet insertion was to the point.

And the thermostat for cooling water is going well and the heater function is OK, with no splashing water sound from heater core in dashboard is discerned at all.

The condition and performance of the automatic trans-axle in US SUBARU are favorable after replacing ATF from SUBARU genuine but interchangeable with CVT into TOYOTA Castle genuine Dexron 2, feeling am I some increased torque transition from 2,2L Flat4 motor.

I perceived again that the performance of a trans-axle affects on the drive feel and riding taste that competitive with the connected motor performance.
Now I recommend my BC7 has some ultimate condition that is second to no one.

Riding tastes

Actually feel I, not excessively but a slight a lack of stability on steering while straight running of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model recently. To tell the truth, at a loss I am these days, boring the axle setting of GC8 GDB Turbo WRX model in BC7, too hard pushing up from the ground is unendurable for my ride.

So some idea comes up in my mind that back to the originally long coil springs instead of short strong ones now she is wearing with harder shock absorbers for another new WRX, genuine not by STI.
The combination softer spring and harder dumper is the ordinal way that BMW often takes?

The angular positioning of frontal lower arm would be set as originally designed for this model if only suspension springs were replaced as originally they were. I hope some natural steering reactions should be re-obtained like before modification.

I have no intentions to measure the inconvenience leaving the shorter springs as they are, lowering the steering tie rod end position and knuckle ball joint doing in the same way, because feel I the cause of the strange reaction must be in the angular positioning of lower arm themselves, producing the knuckle ball joint comes inside when depressed in spite of the duty of moving out side.

This inverted physical phenomena is the critical problem for height downing modification. In this different positioning from original designing, the action of frontal axle acts inconveniently, no way to deceive this fundamental problem.
This is the reason why I determined to change suspension spring as they were originally, all the strange ride taste would be eliminated if I proceed to this troublesome & tiresome work, do I have enough energy & stamina?

In addition, my age obliges me to feel the priority is not a stability while turning some curvature but the softer and comfortable ride while straight running on earth. My brain cortex does not accept any centrifugal physical stress these days.
Better calm and gentle ride like in Cadillac.

Now M-Elmarit 90mm/2,8 long barrel lens is available for use on M9 Digital M-Camera, that had been modified to adapt CANON SLR Digital Camera through the adapter utilizing ASAHI PENTAX helicoid extension tube adapter. Epoxi adhesive was removed from PENTAX K-bayonet ring by heating. So returning to former use is impossible, so determined never to use Elmarit 90 on SLR Digital body. Medium tele-photo lens like 90mm on Leica format size is very convenient for hand holding snap shooting, but remember here the smaller format like Advanced Photographic System size means that 90mm focal length lens acts as 135mm Tele-Photo lens when used on smaller format if compared with 24 by 36 Leica formatting.

About my son, he is in crazy emotional condition, because his proposals are all denied on purchasing new automobile for the sake of graduate cerebration by parents. HONDA S2000 was not because of opened ceiling, Captino not for reason as a toy, MAZDA Road Star also opened car was not, HONDA Civic Euro not because of poor rear trans-axle design same as Fit(the same plat form was used) torsion beam trailing suspension was not changed nand this time ALFA ROMEO Julieta no by the reason of ill positioning of brake master cylinder opposite side for right steering model introduced to Japan.
Additionally now is the most inconvenient opportunity to spend more money, we are moving to new laboratory very soon with big money expenses, so I say him the worst timing now.

Overrunning clutch dysfunction

Does the strange gear noise from the starter portion come from the dysfunction of one way clutch on sliding pinion gear returning mechanism? Probably yes, so the disassembling of starter motor might be required on VW 1302 Super Beetle. It may happen on the 40 years old constructive mechanism, just lack of lubrication. Smooth sliding movement would be recovered soon after the procedure, better do immediately before more wearing would go further. Probably the fundamental construction of the mechanism has not been changed since that. Do this as a task for tomorrow.

Prodigal son

I have spent money 40,000,000 yen for my son as his college tuition and this time additional 6,500,000 yen for his modification on our new laboratory.
To my surprise, he insist to make me pay more 4,000,000 yen for new private car, Alfa Romeo Julieta?
How come?!!! He appeals his foolishness as a prodigal son?

I don't guess his emotional condition? He said to be bought right steering model knowing the ill setting of the left side brake master vacuum assist and the right side brake pedal position. It goes without writing here, strange long and twisted linkage crossing bulkhead causes bad braking feel as reported since long time ago. No permissions are allowed if the constructor might be Alfa Romeo. He says he could not say about the critical disadvantage on the brake system, because I deny immediately after hearing it?

He should not let me know as if he might keep this right steering Julieta, because the ill positioned brake master assist cannot be bought whatever thing happen, why does it happen to be a owner of a Mock?
I wanna say to my son,"Don't struggle yourself till the most suitable one for you is found out! Because you have enough now, you stole my 3L Flat6 B4 SUBARU Legacy  3 years ago?".

Mechanical carburetors

The reason why I decided to keep 40 years air-cooled Beetle is to feel and to touch a fully mechanically controlled automobile by adjusting by myself and for myself for improvement of my skill. Of course such kind of half dead machinery should require some unexpectedly desperate efforts to restore and to resuscitate well, I did it with six months in an effort, coming to a last stop point, getting the license plate.

This kind of trial is very serious highest step for a non professional layman like me. On the way, not a little experimental results, indispensable information and know-hows were obtained that also useful not only in the automobile maintenance field but ours.

From the beginning I had some self-confidence in servicing and adjusting mechanical carburetor, this time Solex 34PICT3 single carburetor, because my technology had been nourished by some difficult ones, twin WEBER 40 DCOM those were equipped in Talbot PEUGEOUT 205 Rallye model, produced in limited amount for the WRC regulation for under 1300cc category mainly for private entries.

All the jets setting were perfectly done by the factory production line enough to complete relatively easy adjustment if performed well by skillful engineer. I trained myself by my own development to establish perfect adjustment to the level of passing the exhaust gas Legal Checking, Carbon-oxide below 4,5% and Hydrocarbon under 1200PPM.
Of course precise pin point adjustment for 4 idle mixture control screw adjustment were necessary!
Consequently those kind of experiences played a great part of finishing VW Super Beetle on earth.

Changing times

At last Eastman Kodak bankrupted, paradise like company disappeared. The transparencies shot 50 years ago by Kodachrome shows brilliant original colors even now.
I feel some pathos on changing times here.

The chemistry between Leica lenses and Kodak silver salt film was excellent on earth, leaving tremendous transparencies in my film vault. The destruction started when they started to sell some fake toys, Disk Film Camera with poor picture quality, a pseudo digital camera like analogue toy.
Repeated restructuring measures after that stripped the employee's motivation, the biggest company became smaller and smaller and the management followed the bad to worse.

We must remember that critical result taking it as our own, serious and continuous efforts are required to keep the company in good health condition.

Why Babylon does?

Checking program in new computer, found out I again abhorrent program, yes, Babylon tool bar.
Sticky, muddy and viscoelasticity character of the program makes me nervous so much, some Jewish software company does like this. Why did it have to be done insidiously for the ordinal PC user?
This is one of a critical disadvantage for Jewish society. Though I have a few Jewish intimate friend, the view for them has changed by Babylon soft ware. It is a very natural result to make a friendly person enemy, if you attack unreasonably.
Jewish Babylon would incline Jewish society to the direction being hated in the world much more than before, because this is their business. I hope the bacteria scattering program disappear as soon as possible, including you if possible, because we do not need any poison in this world.
Again wanna I say, "You are hated on earth!".

At home today like Tom

We had a coldest morning zero degree celsius outside in OSAKA, blocking high pressure on the pacific and cold air flow from relatively northern direction to Japan main land on Japan Sea side was the reason. Chilly condition like this prevents me from going up to my villa in the mountain, the pit works would not go well in hard circumstantial atmosphere because of shrunk fingers out side. This kind of severe climate condition makes my activity low and dull, but not because of age but because of the hardened viscoelastic lubricant in every bonny joint.

So I made up my mind to spend time in my room at home just for finish official papers being served to Public Agency, Kinki Bureau of Health, all of the documents are obtained by downloading from Web site.
In order to finish them, the date of the emigration must be fixed on earth, when?
Remember here, the examination of submissions are performed at the beginning of every month.

Over cooling phenomena on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model is still observed with an inconvenience of being away from heater function, so I must drive it with overcoat and gloves. I'm inspired that the first countermeasure for the tendency is some plate insertion in front of the radiator covering 1/3 of bearing area preventing excessive air flow and storing heated energy, probably effective as before.

Mediterranean Sea sight seeing tourism on huge luxury cruise ship is now very popular recently and the curriculum of stuff training are not digested enough to control tourism industry, this may be one of the reason of the disaster of the grounding accident few days ago in Italy. Anyway lack of training for all the crew stuff is reported including the captain's eccentric attitude immediately after the affair. Considering the fee of the tour they are all unexpectedly cheaper, this may be the reason for prevailing with less supporting services and also for the accident?

Deal with life experience

A fire thief certainly appears when big money moves. They are all good garbled, pretending a good friend with generous in a friendly manner. As we are going to move our laboratory in very near future, such kind of person appeared without exception flattering my young son who is quite vulnerable to money-minded traders. Remember here, too kind is suspicious!
As we have no planning to introduce any new machinery nor materials this time in addition to new coworkers, there is no hope to get out any money from us.
Not a few merchants try to come across to us with desperate efforts these days.
Again I just remembered a famous proverb, "As a wolf resembles a dog, so a flatterer does a true friend.".
True friendship is not in interests.

Came on the horizon

The documents for moving our laboratory must be provided to the Public Agencies during this week. The company of tax dealing would help us this time.
Not a few official papers to several bureaus are forced to continue our business at different moved place, they are regulated by law.
Though Kinki Bureau of Health asks to submit their original license for application, how my important license would be?

Not a little tendency to over cooling on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model would be measured by putting some barrier before the radiator covering a half of the surface.

Recent status

Some government documents must be submitted to agencies due to the transfer of our laboratory next month. The exchanging information on Web site is only downloading a few of form, documents must be sent to them by a conventional way? Even now they put an emphasis on the official paper with a specific red stump mark?

I feel some lack of cabin heating capability in air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle in the coldest season now. Judging from the information in Web site, not a few Beetle user has some complaint on the heater system. I must check the hot air way, may be clogged by some dust accumulated for 40 years?

Because of the similarity of Leica M9 with conventional silver salt M models, I often try to charge next film seeking winding lever with adequate finger lever action, then I'm forced to realize this is not M3 but Digital M9! The rhythm to shoot one by one is the same as M3 though there is a difference of the bulk of residual films, like some unlimited bulk? As there exists some interval rhythm to open bottom cap for film replacing after 36 shootings.

Tele-Elmar 135mm takes good pictures as usual if it has some critical failure, mold inside and partially out of balsam. These kind of defects never affect on the resultant picture quality, just a look peeped inside. This is the same for me as Elmar 65mm macro for Viso-Flex use. As for 50mm Summicron latest model as a spherical model, no disadvantage was observed so world widely known a perfect standard lens.

Cloudy in Europe

The intention of German leader 60 years ago has come true recently, because one of a  fundamental target of terrible Holocaust was the destruction of Jewish financial industry in Europe and financial domination by Nazi world. But, Germany would come out from Euro zone finally, because there must be some stretch to support all the European countries financially by a single country, Germany, however stronger it may be? The worst news was the downgrading of French?

The countermeasure on hitting noise from the left A pillar portion of VW 1302 Super Beetle was effective enough to eliminate it completely that has been suffering me from the beginning. I have arrived at my working place with pleasure in a refreshing feeling.
The condition of VW AD motor, 1600cc OHV Flat4, became better and better by the influences of the fuel physical property, of the good carburetor adjustment and of the ignition timing including vacuum and centrifugal advancing characteristics. Also valve timing, tappet clearances were firmly adjusted while cold phase.

Test driving on NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz yesterday proved that the preparation is perfect in every performance for Legal Inspection on 9th February. No defect was observed in test item.
And 2NZ-FE 1300cc motor with offset crank shaft and VVTi system has fantastic performances wile mutual support by Super Intelligent trans-axle, E-4AT.

At last!




At last the criminal has arrested today that I have been suffering from the noise it produced from the beginning, that was discerned from the left A pillar portion when bounds or trembled. The origin of chronic noise was door checked arm hinge pin hole that must be worn in oval shape and increased checker arm slipping restoration because of lack of lubrication. Adequate grease splaying solved chronic problem thoroughly.

I took several photos in Lake Senjouji today with Leica M9, Summicron 50mm spherical and Tele-Elmar 135mm, 1M photos only because I don't like to shoot in large picture setting at all, only for the use in Web sites. Basically I prefer a truly native natural space to artificial ones.

Motor show this year




I came back home from OSAKA Motor Show disappointed but with some pieces of photograph, relatively crowded there in spite of rain pattern climate. I wanna show the most pretty eye from Alfa Romeo Julieta, Audi A1 and Jatco Continuous Velocity Transfer cut model. More vigor and energy were not felt considering the proportion of people yesterday, on Saturday afternoon.

Motor show in OSAKA

TOKYO Motor Show this year has moved to OSAKA as usual, from yesterday to tomorrow for three days. I'm going to peep into new technologies in automatic trans-axle, European DSG, also CVT by SUBARU JATCO. From some internal information, the research & developing division of trans-axle in TOYOTA has some tendency to stick to the wet clutch designing looking down upon dry type, but VW introducing DSG technology with dry clutch has exceeded TOYOTA in the selling number? How come? War in technology would be especially intense this year in automobile field. Also lightweight competition would be held, between FT86 & MX-5?

Working chair repaired



The coil protecting thermal fuse was put on adequate position on field coil component replacing the parts bypassed for temporally countermeasure a few years ago. The cause of the thermal fuse cut was water leaking on printed circuitry pattern. Now the original condition is acquired again as a new protection.
All the functions on oil pressure lines are OK, checked!
The price of a thermal fuse part is 100 yen in all, but the replacement procedure by some professional engineer costs at least 15,000 yen including service man's travel fee.

Continue Nuclear way?

Israel Air Force may attack Iran relatively soon if the Strait of Hormuz would be closed by Iran, because the Forced closure by Iran would give the best reason to destroy the Iranian Nuclear development facilities that had been long wanted to be done so by Israel. It states the brink of war now!

Now our thermal power generation is highly dependent of the ratio on LNG(Liquid Natural Gas) and the stockpile of the liquid is only a day, then our electric supply would be immediately exhausted, it is clear as day!
Then what shall we do?
Do we continue the method of Nuclear generation?

Come back with success!

Solving two problems I came back safe from Kobe around at noon after passing the Legal Inspection Test for BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US Model. Few inspectors come around my rare and wonderful Legacy to check with twaddling as usual.

First trouble was at document examination, a piece of different one was aberrant and the form should be replaced into correct paper, one for 12 months check sheet to another 24 months one. Of course it was free of charge with apology.

And the secondary one was a fault on left frontal flasher no action, careful checking later proved the reason was not a bulb failure but circuitry open because of probably rusting at connected point, actually some one touch red clip for distribution adapting to Japanese traffic law was a fault. Just a pulling and pushing action on the wiring recovered the electric circuitry.

Two bulbs opening happen very seldom, so the reason of no action could be some poor contact in the added circuitry, it was to the point. Anyway it took me more about one hour to wait the order again on the checking line and replacing the official sheets.

Anxiety on braking power after replacing ABS unit and on countermeasures for oil leak were just in vain, also about cooling effect of LLC,  no bad tendency in exhaust gas was observed by their instrumentation at all, passed and cleared with no problem.

Next Legal Inspection would be in the middle of February for NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz, no anxiety exist in that automobile in spite of over 10 years of interval after production. Brake fluid, ignition plugs and Long Life Coolant had been replaced last year, no problem is found in the automobile.

On June, XH200 OPEL B-Vectra would follow after them, 3 in total this year, expenses are not ignorable on earth!

With all Legal Inspection every 2 years for an automobile is a very serious step for a non professional layman like me, nothing but this  application could excite me utmost, though I would not loose much if I might fail in an Inspection Test.

Lightweight


MAZDA has chosen the right way for automobile production, reduction of body weight, the company puts an emphasis on the point at last on new MX-5, they are now under some research and development for the model. Recent newly produced automobiles have all heavy body weight without any exceptions, because there exists some misunderstanding in "Ride".

Now new concept has introduced by MAZDA with new model MX-5! The new concept is lightweight they say, this is a best information for me, because I have been refrained from purchasing new car, because of a increase of body weight for almost of newly introduced models. I recommend their advancement among the automobile market.

Remember that all the component goes toward to the ideal direction, "smaller and lighter", if the concept of body weight reduction might be introduced in automobile designing. My next purchasing bland would be MAZDA as my first one was so over 40 years ago, "the lighter and the lower, the better" for any automobile, as this truth and fact based on Physics law never changes if it is on Earth.

Bonnet hinge noise?


As an inspiration just now, the hitting noise at left A pillar portion may come from the backlash at bonnet arm hinge, as it was experienced on E-211 Nissan Skyline Japan?
A strange hitting noise at right bonnet hinge started after some lubrication there, then the noise never disappeared until the countermeasure that disassembling hinge parts and mechanical pressing on hinge pin had been operated. Is that the same, because the production generation may be the same, '71?

Study & transaction

NHK E-Tele this morning taught me there are much to learn in the Manuscript Essay in Idleness, so I must come to Kinokuniya book store in Umeda at lunch time. There must be precious information for me to continue our business in future.

I must check the public filings with the time to apply, this is the priority. A today's task it will be.

Do I drop in somewhere after the Legal Inspection tomorrow or come back immediately after that to continue the work on VW 1302 Super Beetle to eliminate the strange hitting noise causing on the left A pillar portion? Let's decide after the Inspection.

We had better make haste to move our working place because most of our neighborhood had moved to another place already and some change in the ambient environment has occurred. At least 10 years of interval would be required for improvement project to be fixed firmly as designed. So the transfer to the extramural place would be some cleverer decision as we did.

After tomorrow

I'm going to apply the Legal Inspection the day after tomorrow for BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model as usual every two years, the appointment is already done at the Hyogo Load Transportation Authority in Kobe. All the maintenance has finished by myself the other day though some troubles were experienced with cares. I hope that the D-Day would not rain.

Very important information was brought to me about our dealing, so I must pay attention to the matter. **** control is important for our business.

Weight on overhang

The car battery burdening position is important because it's weight over 15kg would affect on steering reaction and ride so much if it was put anteriorly to overhanging position. So, the way of burdening position for SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza is sophisticated so much as to be done on front mid-ship position.

On the other hand a spare tire weight psoterior to rear axle on the rear overhung also affects on steering response also, too much fuel with big fuel tank on overhung is harmful for astringent steering response. So fully poured fuel tank that would be unnecessary for the cruising on that day also is no meaning but  satisfactory with dull reactions.

Failures in Beetle

Hitting noise still remains at the left A pillar portion and make me nervous not a little, so the origin of this noise must be detected soon, rusted sound from seat belt buckle would be relatively easily removed by some lubricant application.
Removing glove box thoroughly and checking the bonnet supporting construction directly would be the fastest way to do that, because I judge the noise is caused only when the bonnet is moved in some direction by some dynamic reason.

Battery & Ignition timing

Replacing into new 75D23L car battery for SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza brought tremendous improvement in the performance of YAMAHA 3SGE motor. Combustion state became so smooth as to make me feel comfortable and accelerating pedal reaction changed into more vigorous not roughly but gently with good fidelity. Work in coldest weather

Replacement of the thermostat parts was effective enough to recover a original performance, from PEUGEOT genuine for Talbot 205 Rallye 1300cc model to SUBARU genuine for EJ 22 motor on BC7 Legacy LSi US model. And the bubble reduction step was performed so carefully sticking to the basic manner as to recover the originally normal operation in the temperature control of the coolant.

Now the fatal defect on water-cooled BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model has completely dispelled. No anxiety exists in being examined for Legal Inspection on coming Thursday.

Of course, body painting and rear sway bar application are the works to be done, as I remember.

Also electric window washer pump utilizing one for a model airplane fuel supplying on the ground must be set in adequate position in frontal bonnet of Beetle, the parts and specialized switch(ON only while pushing)  are already prepared, so any time will do, though seldom using of window washer makes me feel lazy to do that?

Am I healthy physically, being occupied over 12 hours a day for 4,5 days a week and another free time is spared for servicing to my keeping 5 autos for private use?

Self-Check Engine

As SUBARU trouble code shows the error on water temperature sensor as #21, I determined to check error code by myself with the method of convention, just 1pin coupler connecting under the handle post.
Restored error would be reported by means of Morse signal on Check Engine lamp flashing. In case of the fault on the water temp one, I would lose the Legal Inspection definitely, because the mixture ratio should be fixed at richer value in case of water temperature dysfunction. Too much Carbon Oxide would be exhausted by the ECU control to pass the limited value below 4,5% inclusion.
So the Water Temp. sensor must be in healthy condition at any rate as indispensable component for a computer controlled engine.
Today and tomorrow the most busy mechanic I would be!

Struggle

SUBARU Legacy is one of the most formidable model to remove bubbles in the LLC circulation path including that of a heater core. Even with several trials, still now it remains, and some considerable reduction of coolant in the reservoir is observed after use. The date of Legal Inspection is near at hand on coming Thursday for BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model, so it very inconvenient to have any trouble on her. Of course this kind of dysfunction is the item to make myself amuse so much, but it better not now because of the reason.

The dysfunction on coolant cooling system is very critical and fundamental problem for water-cooled internal combustion engine. This is the worst problem to be solved at any rate and at any cost if I continue this 20 years old SUBARU Legacy!
Specializing in servicing only on air-cooled VW Beetle for a year sometimes blunt the sense of maintenance in water-cooled automobile at all.

Old buildings



I happen to see old buildings today. The social phenomena in Japan recently, less young people and more geriatric was observed here in country side in Miki City. Judging from the shape of the roof, thatched was repaired with simplified method with thin metal plate and painting. Few years must have passed since deserted, main spar had been fallen down and thrown away untouched. I felt sad a bit to see this kind of natural destruction.

A dugout at the end part of Uzurano military airport(while the generation of Emperor of Japan, 60 years ago). This place is fixed well and opened to the public. Once the base air-camp of Kamikaze, young and excellent pilot departed here Uzurano never to return.

Preparation

Outdated vehicle?

Though there are some difference on engine mounting position and drive system, the fundamental axle construction had been established in 1970s already, so I feel when I deeply inspect VW 1302 Super Beetle produced 40 years ago.

Of course a tremendous improvement in fuel supply control by computer system replaced from mechanical carburetor system contributing to perfect emission control for anti-pollution.

Consequently I do not regard my 40 years Beetle as an old -fashioned and some embarrassing vehicle at all. As the adequate maintenance could continue an automobile produced 40 years ago like this without lagging behind.

As a conclusion, an expensive shopping, a vehicle should not be replaced, if a part or parts might cause some inconvenience in the function, because adequate repairing and periodical replacement of some parts would revive and continue it. Once or twice at the most is enough for a man all through his life?

Following with the information in the Web site, ordered genuine parts arrived at my hand.
But now after the bubble reduction procedure, fixed original parts is working well in good condition with no error sign, how come? Thinks misread like this increases the dead stock in number in my villa stock room.

Recovery

As proverb says, nothing wrong was found this evening in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model,"The mountains have brought forth a mouse.". Countermeasure

The consultation with SUBARU Customer Center about the function of the thermo-unit on the place #4 cylinder proved the sensor does not play a part of electric cooling fan control. It is used only for the mater control but any other functions.
Though thermo-unit is ordered already, it's function has nothing to do with the strange phenomena experienced yesterday, continuously lasted electric fan function?

First of all, I must try to remove bubbles from cooling liquid circuitry with desperate efforts. I cannot deny the possibility of past bubble remained for long time of period since LLC replacement last year and the remained bubble between engine block and heater core had moved to inconvenient portion of the cylinder water gallery and only the coolant temperature around the sensor comes up?
Anyway this persistent foam straying to the circuitry must be thoroughly removed by hook or crook.

Coolant sensor for EGI fuel mixture control including electric cooling fan control. 22630 AA041

Water temp.

My brain is now confused condition to have come across with the unexpected troubles in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model that happened yesterday. So I would like to describe the affairs one by one to analyze and to specify the underlying cause or causes?

Even 20 minutes after cold starting, the heater system could not be activated at all, the temp meter showed low temp., the cooling fan activation was not checked at that time. No tendency to warm the cabin so far as the heater fan was on, however longer I might wait.

The diagnosis by myself came to the conclusion that the cause must be the fracture of water thermostat construction leading to water leaking.
No critical problem was observed in the original parts. Finally changed into 79 degree celsius set one for PEUGEOT 205 Rallye.

The stylus of temperature meter showed the original position in the cluster at the beginning, suddenly while driving the temp-meter started to rise up to the overheating position.
Stopping aside to check in the engine room supposing warm air after opening bonnet, found I a strange scenery that cooler atmosphere and even a radiator cap was not hot but cold?

Then I started the motor again with water temp at high position and the heater was activated at maximum fan rotation, stylus comes down to the marked normal position.
The result proves the functions of both temp. meter and thermal sensor are normal not being broken.

The temperature at the thermal sensors and the heater core comes up because of any reason and the fan heater is operated to run all the time.

Recent inconveniences are caused by two reasons, some residual bubbles must have done harm to the cooling fan normal activation.
Thermal unit parts on the #4 cylinder may be broken to have shown pseudo temperature of LLC.

Not yet!


Grease up procedure was performed on rear drive shafts on both side of BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model today. Though standard manner for this kind of maintenance is disassembling the drive shaft assembly and cleaning all of the inner balls and caller, shoddy way was like this for the sake of periodical Legal Inspection reserved on the next month.
Just peeling the dust boots and apply some additional lubricant is my way, doing like this once per 20 years. Grease lubrication feeling when moved laterally was obtained after the procedure, it's better than leaving it undone.

The bubble in the cooling liquid circuitry may be remained? Water temperature meter shows strange position and cooling fan doesn't stop on the way today. Much more efforts may be necessary to remove bubble thoroughly. Continuous cooling fans activation must be lead to critical battery ruining sooner or later.

Instant camera modified Strobe Ignition Timing Light works very well, no additional resistor 100 ohm nor application of coil on sensing element was necessary, it went to the point with the first trial. 0,22 micro farad value of main capacitor was adequate enough to show the timing point on the pulley at 3,000 rpm in addition to the idling point.
Also the battery cell is used as it was and the original case just with the modifications on an application of thyristor on the shutter switching terminal and the replacement of capacitors for increasing charging response.

Semiconductors



Two kind of semiconductors were obtained at Sengoku dealing company in Nipponbashi Osaka yesterday.
Thermal fuse activate at 182 degree celsius were for working machinery in my laboratory once bypassed as urgent countermeasure a few years ago, so the fail safe mechanism is out of order now electrically.
Thyristors are for ignition timing strobe light utilizing instant camera with artificial lighting system, the way how to arrange is common in the Web sites.
Today I'm going to try this kind of hobby work after the obtaining good information that the application of rheostat 500 ohm would be effective and the adequate capacitor value is 0,22 micro farad with bipolar construction would be available. I would report on the result on this trial later.

Simplistic New Beetle

Though The Beetle was in the list of my favor, she disappeared immediately after recognizing the rear axle construction, abhorrent torsion beam suspension was invited in spite of the 4 link with sway bar layout for Golf.

The importance of prevention in unnecessary lateral displacement of rear axle construction spoils the steering response apparently, this is ascertained by myself with some experiment on EP82 TOYOTA Starlet with 3 linked rear suspension.

Unfortunately NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz has the torsion beam rear axle construction, I tried to stop the displacement of rear torsion beam arm by applying special rubber part by TRD, resulting a bit effective but in vain. Muddy and sticky steering responding reaction could not be removed so far as the lateral displacement of rear axle construction remains.

However harder the attentions might be paid on the compliance in the steering linkage, frontal suspension arm bushes and geometric constructions, the signal applied on the steering would be easily consumed by the lateral movement of the rear axle. So the prevention of rear lateral movement must be more important than the reinforcement of steering mechanisms including reduction of tire profile.

Remember here the Natural Law, Stress is concentrated mainly on the weakest portion. The importance are the stress distribution and the establishment of some adequate compliance for a human natural reaction.

The test driver in the factory exerts himself in the efforts how much and where the compliance should be as a total balancing, ordinal user cannot follow after him, there are the apparent difference between a professional and layman.

To Wakayama City

So, running on the highway with Pura at good ignition timing brows away dirty material in the combustion room inside, the adhered inconvenient materials like carbonated dust, sludge and vanish. Actually the performance of the AD motor improved after few hours of cruising on the highway.

We have some talk about Mybows Chiaki, our opinion came to a meet together that he is an indispensable person in Air-cooled VW field because of his enthusiasm like an American Fire Ball in Japan Tokyo!

Ancient device


Replaced FAX system does not work well and now no information is received with the way. New mother board doesn't accept the former FAX modem Melco V.90/K56flex with conventional PC socket pin layout and in and out connective sockets.
Newly introduced USB Analogue FAX modem REX-USB56 has only one connective socket requiring parallel connection?
Anyway this problem and inconvenience must be overcome as soon as possible, because this situation affects adversely on our business.

Finally I have succeeded in communicate with the method of ancient way, FAX com..Newly applied wiring by myself was effective to establish parallel connection of FAX modem and Telephone line. This success was proved to have received some dust FAX intending unnecessary advertisement utilizing the resources on the other side. The expenses of 6,300 yen did not come to a void.

I'm going to have 2 days vacation from now, I may drop in Machine Head in Wakayama City that shared me the VW 1302 Super Beetle a year ago? Depending upon how long does it take me from now to negotiate with the professional builder for our new laboratory construction.

Legal inspection, BC7

The reservation for legal inspection at Kinki Bureau of land transport has established, BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model would have the inspection test in Kobe motor cycle office at Uozaki KOBE. Heavy, huge and longer wheel base may contribute to ride comfort but wearing with dull, hard turning and stopping character would be inevitable.

Recovery

The performance of the heater system in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model has recovered and keeps the cabin in warm condition, the task in the cold weather, replacement of the thermostat modules, was rewarded.

I make it an indispensable rule to mark down the water temperature position on the meter cluster scaling surface, because the cooling water temperature is the best way to know the motor condition at all.

The stylus end point shows the former position exactly and the cooling fans are activated adequately, all the functions including replaced ABS unit are working favorably this morning.

BC7 completed


Removed thermostat part fixed in BC7 SUBARU Legacy did not show apparent failure in the construction as imagined. The replacement parts was not SUBARU genuine one but for Talbot PEUGEOT 205 Rallye that I had been keeping for over 10 years.

The function of the thermostat was checked before setting in the water circuitry by boiling it in a boiling bath actually. The difference of the operation setting temperatures was 1 degree celsius, original was 78 and PEUGEOT 79 promptly.

The original function on heater system re-acquired and it very comfortable in hot heating condition. Then with an adequate function on ABS unit has recovered after replacing the unit into used one that had obtained in YaHoo auction at 5,000 yen.
Thanks to the countermeasure above, 20 years BC7 Legacy has revived like a Phoenix in the ultimate condition.

About the inconvenience on brake caliper, oil leak on breather plug, I gave him some special sealing parts mentioned before, I'm looking forward to receiving effective results soon.

The driving testing to Tezukayama from Nakayama about 30km distance proved that the bubble reduction in water circulating line is not enough showing frequent cooling fan activation. Any countermeasure must be tried as usual if this tendency continues tomorrow.

Talking with my intimate friend experienced for long time in the industry about the thermostat parts that looks normal but with opportunistic failure must occurs sometime from the beginning even for factory genuine parts.


I happen to visit Indian restaurant leaving my purse at home without carrying any money, but soon it was compensated in 1 hour, though the chef had said that the payment might have been postponed,next time would have done.

Not for me. Golf 1200

Though not a few report said so good about the new VW Golf 1200cc with DEG trans-axle, test driving by myself did not give any impressive excitement at all. Actually made me feel my car used today was far better than Golf 1200.

I was disappointed in the result of test driving, in spite of the lowest 2500,000 yen was the price they served including all the expenses. Additionally the brake pedal touch was not good, some small bubble may exist in brake pipe line? Consequently, it disappeared from my distinction as a next car that I'm going to keep yesterday.

Audi A3 may the next one that stands by me at hand? Also the high frequency hitting noise rising fro the huge direct cylindrical direct injector spoiled my interest so much.

The thermostat equipped in BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model would be replaced, if the parts could be obtained from the dealer. Troublesome replacement of LLC should be surely accompanied unavoidably, I must smell a pungent odor of Ethylene Glycol whether I like or not.

I must call him up to negotiate about the stopping brake fluid leak from the left rear caliper breeding valve portion today the firs beginning day for new year.

Farewell

Grand children would come back home to Tokyo soon, some parting sadness comes out in our mind, they were so noisy as to feel us unacceptable, this kind of tendency is an usual phenomena.

I would set up newly introduced PC in my laboratory after bring them to New Osaka Station before noon. Setting FAX modem might be a complicated work? Replacement of water hoses in every working chair is the required task, ordered parts have already arrived.

Least 2 months of period is the lust opportunity to continue my own business at the conventional place, it may be the end of my working life as a practitioner.
As mentioned before, the obligation to move our laboratory according to Hankyu Station Development may be the time for a change of generation accepting my son as a member of our stuff.

Incredible accident

I had the bumper of VW 1302 Super Beetle hit yeste day, because of nothing but my mistaking with lack of concentration checking the distance directly by turning back, but just being done by back mirror only, loosening of self identity invites irreversible accident on earth.
Causing problems behind means that I have anything to be rushed.

It is clear that the contract with the constructing dealer, not yet, because my son has changed the drawing design again. I must meet with them as soon as possible, today or tomorrow, sooner the better?

As SUBARU dealer opens tomorrow, I must obtain the replacement parts, the thermostat must be the common parts for all SUBARU EJ type flat 4 motors.

Water & Oil leak

Finding out the parts in my junk box, an used thermostat for Peugeot, I refrained from replacing it for BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model, because of the sealing problem. SUBARU genuine one has a rubber sealing outer round edge portion. I would postpone the work until I receive new SUBARU genuine one.
Before setting it in the place, I would try to ascertain the function by putting it in hot water to activate the wax pellet mechanical actuator preventing the error by an early failure of new parts.

My intimate friend who belongs to OSAKA SUBARU Tezukayama dealer had some problem on his own car after giving it to his son, rear left brake caliper dysfunction. However hard he may pay attention to removing the bubble in brake pipe line and succeed in doing that, the brake pedal comes down relatively soon. And actually some piece of bubbles are recommended. He is repeating the same procedures several times without determining the cause of bubble production.

I just remembered that the bubble exists just very near part of breeder screw, and the oil leak on the breeder causes a bubble production inside. Exactly the same phenomena were experienced when used brake hoses were invited and the used ABS unit was burdened in BC7 Legacy.
The countermeasure for oil leak was inserting thin aluminum sheet as mentioned before, I must tell him about this and I'm prepared for sharing the sealing packing if he wants.

Occupied

Transferring datum from former PC to new one is troublesome and does takes time on earth. Also disk check on huge sized HDD does few hours.

Remembering the past, there must be some thermostat parts in my junk box, for example for Peugeot 205? It may be adaptable if the diameter should meets with SUBARU EJ motor, because the regulated temperature may be the same or difference may be acceptable? As a newer parts are not always required on an old automobile, any applicable parts should be applied if they are not out of order.

Hitting noise on left A pillar portion still remains in VW 1302 Super Beetle, the origin of the noise is not clear, bonnet supporting coil spring and linkage may the criminal or plastic cover on the spring? Some tie up band application would prove today?

Lively tonight

My home is so lively tonight in 7 members in all with my son and relative's family including children. Tomorrow we must take care of children all day long taking them to some park and another playing garden. New year holidays this year would be fully occupied by them.
Talking about emigration to US was the title this evening with them being favor of positive opinions, to LA or Hawaii? I may change my residence to some foreign country, it's OK no problem, as I have lead a life for more then a half of a century in Japan, the place I had born should not be the same as a final one.

I have enough confidence to overcome language, financial and food problems wherever I may settle in future.
Suppose that I might get up in the morning tomorrow in completely different circumstantial condition, with different place, different language and different food and different manner and customs in different culture, I have enough confidence to be getting accustomed to them in very short period of time.
I might be punching keys of PC at different place in different language in few years?
Of course the immigration into the country in favor of lower prices, the lower the better.

Pseudo imposter

Although I have almost decided to buy MR-S TOYOTA mid ship motor sports car for the sake of last opportunity to do that, the information from Web site destroyed my dream that the plat form of the model is the same as the first generation Vitz that I'm keeping now as 1300cc RS model. The name of the platform is NBC(New Basic Car), just only for family use. Basic designing and concept are not for a 2 seats sport model, so it is just an appearance only if the rear axle designing was changed into strut one, it's very seldom construction because of the restriction by the original NBC torsion beam rear axle design.
This is very similar with a poor story of Civic Euro that was simply modified family use entrance model HONDA Fit.

As I'm keeping SUBARU 4WD Legacy 2.2L sedan, TOYOTA FR Altezza 2L sedan models and TOYOTA light weight Vitz, I dare say that I can imagine how would be the new model, FT86 model, then some scruple occurs, why didn't you apply MR layout as invited on MR2 and MR-S, are you afraid of the past failure on the last model? You have introduced sequential trans-axle already for former model, no? You must have enough reason to apology on introduction of the same FR layout design and tell the differences between YAMAHA 3SGE in Altezza and newly introducing SUBARU Flat 4 motors already in Impreza.
How about burdening flat 4 SUBARU motor laterally with the sequential trans-axle, no restraint exists for motor stroke if the lateral layout might be introduced?

Transformation

Thinking about the resolution on a photograph, CCD or CMOS imaging element exceeds old silver salt film now. And it is a very seldom opportunity to print on the paper but an image information exchanging is performed by way of Web connection. As for me, 0,3 Mpix pictures are enough to paste on my own blog and any larger inconvenient pictures are not necessary. In case of submitting some photographic work to the exhibition, larger picture datum may be necessary?

But remember here that the larger work should be interfered from an adequate distance and the human's eyes have also resolving power, so nicety on large work is not always required like a Botanical Painting.
I have realized this fact and truth when I had come across with the great work in a huge frame by on of a Master of Painting, Mr. Kaii Higaishiyama.
Though some very rough depiction by a closer look as it was, the work had sophisticated aesthetics appreciating from an adequate distance.

To write a truth, some Leica telephoto lenses had been modified to adopt with larger format bodies, Mamiya 645 and Pntax 67 and deeper consideration made them inter-adaptable mounting connections desiring for larger formatting.
I did not imagine to undo the results of desperate efforts again at that time, but I must do that on modified Leica lenses except ones to be used on Canon SLR digital devices. A new comer M9 brings unexpected affairs.

Cold BC7

A Happy New Year, Congratulation!

Destroyed thermostat water temperature control valve obliged me to drive BC7 SUBARU Legacy Legacy in cold cabin this morning. Probably the valve spring pressure supporting triangular mechanical construction must be destroyed and the valve is kept opened, cruising in the cold temperature pushes down the stylus of water temp. meter soon.
Parts supplies would be closed till 9th this month, so the repairing would be postponed until over 10 days later.

The control valve parts replacement must invite the change of water temp. meter stylus position at adequate stable temperature, the marking must be moved in the meter cluster.
Trifle but complicated procedures are waiting, not only the parts setting but also LLC replacement would be added, though I had made desperate efforts on replacing ABS unit and on following procedures, again must I do that, one after another? I will continue, if my Xanthippe mocks as, "You unnecessarily use too long consistently!".

Thick and heavier lens designing construction as one of a Ernostar type, M-Tele-Elmar 135/4 has been providing fine pictures since silver salt film period of time.
Sharpness, resolution, aberrations correction and color separation are acceptable for me and the blurs on anterior and posterior are also acceptable, not so apparent in double lines blur as reported.

The dignity of picture quality as a Leica family equipment is enough to level with another expensive lenses.
Throwing away for few years permitted the mold grow inner surfaces of grasses, though it does not affect on the picture production, I will clean the surfaces by disassembling the lens elements with DIY method.
