Validity for 4WD

The SUBARU 4WD concept had been based on the performance when used in severe condition like snowy, heavily rainy, muddy and slippy, hi-angled steep up and down and windy climate.
An approaching angle and departure angle was decided on the actual angular scenery on the slope in Ara-River at Koto-ku in Tokyo.

But recently after the first generation Legacy, the concept on 4WD in SUBARU company was changed into High way use only, that must be caused by the actual road condition that the road in Japan land even in considerable country deep inside, it very difficult to find out the road surface that has not been paved. So the road condition cannot be the reason to design 4WD axle except that in a very rare bad climate condition.

The high power motor is not necessary for ordinal passenger's automobiles, no wheel spin would not occur and no distribution is required except for 2WD, the torque distribution to 4 wheels are necessary only in the World Rally Championship Racing scenery. Those kind of showing is utilized only for commerce for maker's dealing advertisements, actually the WRC racing cars are completely different from mass production ones, just an image making advertising methods the showing model are used.

We customer should not be moved and be influenced by maker's strategy in anyway. We should know the truth and the fact in an automobile's performance.
As I mentioned before, 4WD axle designing involves the difficulty in adjusting and in establishing the wheel alignments and axle constructive geometries.
Also another 2 wheel driving constructions, a propeller shaft, an additional differential gear box and drive shafts invite more 100kg body weight, also another driving gear noises.

Strange steering reactions like some feeling a sense of dragging and strutting are inevitable, how may times did I check the side brake lever because of unnatural steering reactions?
