Attempt on 4WD to 2WD

As an experimental attempt I went for road test driving today on BC7 SUBARU Legacy LSi US model under the unusual condition of Front Wheel Drive only by shortening the electric clutch circuitry situating the rear part of automatic trans-axle.

Unpleasant potential anxiety has disappeared to go unexpected direction if I loose my own concentration for a moment. Goes like an arrow as an usual F/F designed automobile feeling like a new car. Also much more easier to trace the intended line to go on winding roads, though the character of steering reactions has been changed from 4WD to F2WD.

I prefer 2WD to conventional 4WD, determining to drive this automobile as F/F model for daily use almost all the time except only in the condition of heavy raining or snowing climate. As for anomalous use of SUBARU Active Split Automatic Trans-Axle, the safety is proved by talking to the SUBARU customer's center in Tokyo.

No inconvenient phenomena would happen physically if driven in the condition of electric magnetic rear driving clutch might be off continuously.
So the use of 4WD system only in emergency is available, in an usual condition, 2WD only.

I would feel the weigh of 70kg to 100kg occupied by rear driving system, electric magnetic rear drive clutch system, propeller shaft, rear differential gear(Nissan made) and heavy rear drive shafts with CV joints on both sides.

Also Sun roof constructive parts 20kg, air conditioning system, compressor, heavy and long hoses, evaporator, condenser 20kg, power windows 20kg, a lead battery for the cold area specification 10kg, driver's and navigator's seats 40kg. Minus 200kg in total!

Some day wanna I drive this initial generation SUBARU Legacy under the state of "Dropped the Fat". Probably completely different driving world must be opened in future?
