Probably the basic construction of fuel gage is not changed even now as shown in the photo, so to speak heater and bimetal combination structure. Simple construction means the room for any private adjustment as a self preference.
More investigations must be performed to know the original hose connection on fuel tank under the front bonnet of VW 1302 Super Beetle. Because the tank was replace by the Iron Head Co. situated in Wakayama pref. Chikukou City and only the outlet fuel hose only was connected, another ones were kept open unconnected.
Now I'm looking for the Web sites to show about correct connections on fuel tank, also the innate way of thinking of complicated and difficult to understand, factory hose connections.
Also, air cleaner construction and the basic way of design must be found out and understood.
