Don't loose to replace universal joint boots for upper and lower.
Also I'm reluctant to say that the cold and chilly weather condition today prevents me from going down to working pit where 40 years old lovely lady is waiting for me.
The lubricant in the ball recirculating steering gear box must be replaced with adding Microron Teflon powder, because the gear oil should not have been replaced since poured in Germany 40 years ago and no gear box replacement parts supply is desired.
Steering linkage establishments and transaxle gear oil 80W-90 and engine oil TOYOTA genuine 5W-30 would cover almost of Beetle restore this time.
Remember that the license plate may be applied in this coldest season, legal continuous survey would be periodically performed in this season every two years from now?
Thinking it back to have obtained this Beetle in the end of last year, the purpose of this automobile is not mainly to use every day, but to enjoy restoring and keep the original condition as much as possible, so the procedure of Plate Registration is not the first and the critical goal. Engine oil in 11AD VW 1302 Super Beetle was changed into TOYOTA genuine Castle Motor Oil 5W-30. Probably it was not changed for long time, blacky and modified material were included.
The circuitry for horn was also checked finding out the reason was the resistor effects in the circuit, the slip ring coupling in handle boss is the most suspicious portion.
New parts for steering linkage were checked before setting, no lubricant were included in the boots inside? Chrome Molybdenum grease applications are required after removing circlip bands.
