Repair





I spent yesterday on repairing NCP10 TOYOTA Vitz & a personal computer fixed in my working place. Vitz required the replacement of oil seal installed in differential gear box on the left side, because of 3 dimensional crowded situation of DIJ in relation with frontal main bar, special tool had to be newly made by DIY utilizing old shock absorber piston rod of VW 1302 Super Beetle front strut mechanism.
The inconvenience of oil piling there had been caused by the replacement of drive shaft itself, long used oil sealing rubber material has tendency to be loosened it's flexibility under the heated and gear oil circumstance if closing coil spring might be invested in the sealing lip ring. As Vitz's motor mounting design is longitudinal one, pre-load adjustment is not required on differential gear side bearing, a roller bearing was observed after removing oil seal part. I conclude that difficult task could be done if desperate efforts was exerted under an insufficient working facilities without any full-fledged lifting equipment.

The personal computer had some inconvenience in SD card reader bay, so a bulk part was prepared for repairing at 1,500yen. When I opened ATX Tower box, so surprised I was to perceived dirty mold and dust on CPU cooling fin situated on the i3 chip after a half year use. Periodical maintenance every 6 months on PC is necessary at any rate, so I realized.
