Fine today






Rear toe correction on SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza has taken effect well, the procedure was payed attention especially to the total toe value vector direction, so to speak "Thrust Angle". Following my experiences, the potential right side run tendency must have been brought by minus thrust angle. Factory manual specifies total toe value at 2 mm by tire diameter scaling, the diameter of 215/45R-17  tire has approximately 1252 mm(excluding centrifugal dynamic deformations while actual use) so the angle value is summed up to 1,830 minutes(angle value). I applied 4 minutes twisting to plus direction  on the trust angle as an attempt, and it was Bingo! Right side run tendency disappeared successfully, but it is too early to be pleased with a premature joy, because some influence by uneven wear(tread conicity) might be remained, further adjustment would be required after some distance running. The narrower of the construction should be, as less as possible.

Also, SXE10 TOYOTA Altezza has serviced on frontal disk brake caliper that is same as BC7 SUBARU Legacy, this is also left untouched as long as 9 years from it's purchase as a new car. Big and heavy caliper must be mounted that is as same as Crown Athlete model of which body weight is heavier 100 kg than that of Altezza, so over brake power capacitance.
I have realized that 23,000 km use with gentle driving manner wears 60 % thickness of frontal brake pad, it is an unusual result for Japanese domestic design. I should wonder that too excessive brake  power dust has been observed from the beginning, the designing concept must be changed into the secure effectiveness of braking is the first rather than long lasting lives.
Persistent using the worn brake pads till they were ruined, not only because they harm to brake disk mirror surfaces but also brake pedal touching feel would be spoiled by muddy response from the brake pedal. This bad feeling is brought by the inclination of too much projected caliper piston from the caliper cylinder, of course an original good pedal response is loosen on the final stage. Consequently, propose I that the brake pads as expendable parts should be replaced if 50 % thickness was used both for the safety and for keeping original good pedal touch and reaction.
Brake fluid reserver tank should not poured additionally to keep to the full indicating line, The amount of reduced brake fluid is the good indication to show how much brake pads were used and thickness of them were lost. No need to be fall in a anxious mental condition in the situation as the necessary fluid had been fulfilled in the brake lines already, if any amount reduction was observed on the reserver tank. In case of any oil pressure line, the fluid in the compressed condition would be lost suddenly not gradually.
The reason why I removed caliper body from the holder is lubrication in the slider guide pin, smoothness in this portion is a key to obtain good brake pedal feel and reaction.

I have set up some Quartz clock movement parts into an antique wall clock removing mechanical gear parts in it, not so difficult task for me. It has a pendulum system to keep good time mechanically, so I want to remain it in the original position for fixing the appearance if it does not swing as it's function.
A beautiful mechanical movement removed from the antique wall clock inhibited me to desert it into a trash, so I put it in one of a member of wall decorations, does look it strange, ugly or flashy and vulgar?
