The bulk of frontal bonnet is decided by the mechanism component inside.
For example a rear engined and a mid engined automobile, far thinner design may be possible than the models with another engine layout.
Then how about Flat 4 or Flat 6 frontal engine designed ones, SUBARU B4?
In spite of thin and low motor design, frontal bonnet is not so thin as desired, why? Inspections opening bonnet reveals the facts that the completion equipments are occupying the upper part of the flat motor especially intake manifold and surge tank. With all the thin flat cylinder layout, much more different designing must be possible, but actually not?
The SUBARU car designer does not want lower frontal fender design like Porsche or initial Legacy model and intends to be as same as Line Motored ordinal another frontal engine models instead. They wanted some extrusions and bluffs for new Legacy models.
