An inspection carried out by the authorities makes me feel thrilled like continuity car test every to years. I make it a rule to bring my car to the regular Kinki Land Transport Secretariat and to be inspected for maintaining continuity legally. I have no other opportunity than this inspection, I would enjoy this chance as an indispensable one.
Inspection items are followings.
Verifications of chassis number and that of the motor, the actions of flusher for turning signal and emergency stop and vehicle width lights and stopping light, back up lamp on the revers gear position. Horn action and wiper with shower also. Torch for emergency stop.
Side slip value test of frontal axle by a special device plus minus 5mm per 1m forward displacement.> Already adjusted to establish the value 0 mm.
Brake effect on every 4 wheels, brake shoe clearance had been done the other day to eliminate stepped sense on the pedal.
Head light hi-beam direction, down to the left side is established checking by the decided provision at night utilizing telegraph poles standing with the distance of 30m.
Speedometer test at 40km/h, the accuracy is matched against GPS, in spite of conventional mechanical construction as it is, very accurate on my Super Beetle.
Overall chassis test, the generations in steering linkage and axle hinge connections, rubber parts such as torn boots from under side.
Exhaust gas emission test, Carbon-Oxide 4,5%, Hydro-Carbon 1200ppm limitations.> Already checked the other day by means of the dealer's special device.
No anxiety element exists for today's inspection at KOBE Ohgi on my 42 years old air-cooled VW Super Beetle 1302.
Remember here that the same inspection with the same procedure is waiting for me in this June for SXE-10 TOYOTA Altezza.
