Airfoil

I'm going to change subject of my hobby this year, because I have done well on automobiles as long as 12 years and on the camera equipment modifications those are almost over soon. The direction to be aimed at is "Airfoil" based on aerodynamics and hydrodynamics and related "Vortex generator". I want to reproduce the phenomenon on Radio Controlled Model Airplane and to obtain various datum to be analyzed. These are the very desire that I had been stored in my heart from my youth.
Though I'm working now as a active duty and weekdays are fully occupied by my business, I'll do that in very near future after the alternation of generation would be attained by my son. Spectacular advances must have done by the researcher in the scientific  field also in Radio communication technology. I'm looking forward to going into the field deeper as one of my hobby for a  geriatric person. The model airplane would be designed as a shoulder wing, motor set in carburetor upright position and motor capacity with 25 cube/inches.

Steering gear box centricity

Rough tie-rod adjustment on the left side at Kobe Kinki Department of Motor Vehicles destroyed the centricity of the steering gear box arm resulting tire hitting phenomena in right tire house of VW 1302 Super Beetle while a measuring for the other day's inspection test. This is mainly caused by the irregularity of steering link operating range because of the steering gear box control arm angular difference. In addition the movement limit stoppers on idler case construction were not adjusted well from the beginning. As a conclusion, tie-rod adjustment should be performed with the condition of fixing steering gear box control arm centricity, As I mentioned before, precisely established frontal wheel alignment should be the key to a following rear wheel alignment, total toe and it's direction, thrust angle that is the most important geometric alignment for stable driving. 1 mm toe-in would be applied under minus 20 minutes camber inclination.
About the steering box part for right steering position design, no further parts supply in the world is done, so the death of this part means the end of right steering 1302 and 1303 Super Beetles. I have already obtained this gear box as a replacement parts, used but no symptom of wear. Steering movement stopper construction is formed on gear box case for 1303 parts, instead on drag link for 1302.

Lead car battery capacitance

A lead car battery condition is observed by measuring the voltage between opened terminals, though the datum obtained by opened voltage measuring is abstract compared with the method of doing the specified gravity of electrolyte. Just measuring voltage method is simply easier than the latter one. The battery shown here was self-discharged until loosing the electric capacity that could not activate starter motor of Hybrid TOYOTA Crown, 65D23L. For 9 hours gradual charging at 16,5V/2A(switching power supply) has recovered to show 12,20V between opened terminals, almost 50% capacitance has saved and more charging is required to fulfill the original capacitance. Basically, the battery once ruined would not recover the original performance, but it would play a part of emergency use. As a common sense, a lead battery should be charged at 10% higher voltage with 1/10 current of the battery capacitance, I make it a rule to at much higher voltage with lower current taking longer time as gradual charging method, according to my experience, this method has never caused any problem like destructive curvature of electrodes. Before all, electrode liquid level should be at the same decided amount by adding pure water promptly.
For a long time of period I believed that the play of a lead car battery is just activation of starter electric motor and give an initial combustion spark, then once started, the battery has almost nothing to do with the motor performance, because the power supply is mainly by the alternator rotating together with motor performance. But, actually the fact isn't true, because some ruined battery requires charging energy from the alternator connected with the motor by way of belt and the motor power would be consumed by activated alternator rotation. This is why a new and healthy enough car lead battery provides light and comfortable run. As the charging energy in an alternator is supplied by motor combustion energy, so a fully charged requiring no charging is one of an indispensable factor to establish comfortable and astringent run. 

Holiday home

A friendly neighbor made it possible to have a good circumstance as a holiday home for me giving a suitable parking place and it was an unexpected and unhoped for joy, because the place is broad and wide enough space to maintain my automobiles including wheel alignment and axle constructive geometries. Consequently, I'm busy for transferring garages and all the instrument settled on former villa place. Long kept villa in the mountain side would be sold away because of no future hopeful advantages. Now, I'm capable to service for my automobiles in closed condition without any external interferences like animals, cats, dogs, weasels nor mice. Wide and broad space makes me released from any stresses. In addition, the concrete floor finishing is relatively flat, so a little efforts would be required to establish ground level that is an indispensable requirement for precise wheel alignment and axle construction geometry measurement and adjustment. Accumulation of fundamental and steady efforts like this would be of a great help to bear sweet fruit for me.  

TELE-Elmar completed

The modification of Leitz TELE-Elmar 135/4 old M lens setting on Canon EOS digital imaging format has successfully completed last late at night. Because some complicated conjunctive parts was utilized, Minolta MC ROKKOR 135/3,5 helicoid, it took time for me far longer than the method just putting the EOS bayonet flange nails on Minolta lenses as I did much previously. As for my surprise, the potential in image resolution is eye-opening and phenomenal so much, just realized I the fact that TELE-Elmar is used by some professional purpose for datum recording of Nara Remains(Cultural property), provably this exceptional capability in Resolution had made him determine to choose TELE-Elmar 40 years ago as a main recording device. Extraordinary potential of this historical lens would be survived on Digital Imaging element, Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor in Canon 7D. But, remember that my modification way is not destructive one but reversible, so I can returned back this modified TELE-Elmar as it had been in original condition, Leica M bayonet lens whenever desired.
 How does this lens play as a reproduction tool, stopping the time, cutting out a specific three dimensional space and reproducing some smell of the air space (feeling of the air) without any dramatization nor exaggeration? The lens designing concept of putting an emphasis on the capability of resolution rather than contrast reflecting well to the untrained eye is nothing but the characteristic requirement for my favorite tool on earth.
Any inconvenience for ordinary use is not discerned at present, but very slight hitting phenomena on Minolta flange inside surface between straight helicoid movement guide piece axially is observed now, so a little adjustment there by grinding would eliminate this sense of discomfort thoroughly. Any bug should be removed however slight it may be, if an ultimate performance is required as a extraordinary special performance tool.

Soon TELE-Elmar 135/4

Trial setting of Leitz TELE-Elmar 135/4 lens head on Canon EOS digital body by way of Minolta MC ROKKOR 135/3,5 helicoid mechanical construction revealed an expected potential with clear and transparent digital pictures. Conjunctive procedure of them would be performed with the condition of precise infinity helicoid position this afternoon after work. Comparing the weight of the finished modified Leitz TELE-Elmar, it would be far less than an original Minolta MC ROKKOR 135/3,5, because an unnecessarily heavy weight part has eliminated as show in a picture.
This lens would lasts me so long from now as an indispensable device.

Inadvertent failure

Though I wrote on today's legal inspection just I have nothing to worry about VW 1302 Super Beetle with passing very easily, actually not on earth! I have failed as much as 4 times because of the ill setting value on side slip and the lack of left side head light illuminance! The illuminance problem was simply solved by a little motor acceleration to activate DC generator just while being measured by the device. As a matter of fact, I have received red stamped additional sheet and obliged to pay 1,300 yen more. I'm shame so much, as the first time for me like this! As I adjusted toe-in value so gradually and carefully after failing, the attempts changed into 0,5mm wider step by step, finally I determined to adjust it by means of 3 points see through method from the frontal direction ignoring the original condition, much faster and quicker to adjust it within the tolerance for this method, setting it within plus minus 5mm. As for exhaust emission gas test, I got negative mark on the value of Hydro-Carbon, the official inspector gave me a passing stamp after consulting datum book depending on the production age.
The failure today mainly due to reverse threaded screw construction of adjusting mechanism on tie rods on both side, just I was confused, neglected to check it as a final step. I have realized some bad manners of steering reaction after adequate to toe-in value was applied. I should realize on this kind of inconvenience before the legal inspection. Munch more precise adjustment would be performed by means of LASER pointer equipped measuring device as having been done on another automobiles that I'm keeping now.
Thank to 5 hours taking problem due to my own inadvertent failure, I could make friend there, the owner of old Lotus Elan and also old Mini Countryman, both of the automobiles were older than my '71 Super Beetle. Finally we all could pass the inspection test and shook hands each other.
In addition I could have an opportunity to talk with an enthusiast driving on Nissan 180SX, he had moved the motor position backward to establish front motor mid-shipping construction. He said the steering reaction had been changed by his desperate efforts on his work, far better than original setting like a completely different car. I hope he could have passed the inspection safe yesterday.

WV 1302 Super Beetle inspection

An inspection carried out by the authorities makes me feel thrilled like continuity car test every to years. I make it a rule to bring my car to the regular Kinki Land Transport Secretariat and to be inspected for maintaining continuity legally.  I have no other opportunity than this inspection, I would enjoy this chance as an indispensable one.
Inspection items are followings.
Verifications of chassis number and that of the motor, the actions of flusher for turning signal and emergency stop and vehicle width lights and stopping light, back up lamp on the revers gear position. Horn action and wiper with shower also. Torch for emergency stop.
Side slip value test of frontal axle by a special device plus minus 5mm per 1m forward displacement.> Already adjusted to establish the value 0 mm.
Brake effect on every 4 wheels, brake shoe clearance had been done the other day to eliminate stepped sense on the pedal.
Head light hi-beam direction, down to the left side is established checking by the decided provision at night utilizing telegraph poles standing with the distance of 30m.
Speedometer test at 40km/h, the accuracy is matched against GPS, in spite of conventional mechanical construction as it is, very accurate on my Super Beetle.
Overall chassis test, the generations in steering linkage and axle hinge connections, rubber parts such as torn boots from under side.
Exhaust gas emission test, Carbon-Oxide 4,5%, Hydro-Carbon 1200ppm limitations.> Already checked the other day by means of the dealer's special device.
No anxiety element exists for today's inspection at KOBE Ohgi on my 42 years old air-cooled VW Super Beetle 1302.
Remember here that the same inspection with the same procedure is waiting for me in this June for SXE-10 TOYOTA Altezza.

TELE- Elmar under construction

Leitz TELE-Elmar 135/4 is now undergoing to modify adopting on Canon EOS digital image format. As mentioned before, Minolta MD 135/3,5 helicoid mechanical construction is utilized with the condition of infinity position reproduction and the close up distance 1,5 m according to the original construction. Procurement of the required parts and tweaks of them are almost finished already, just connecting each other procedures are the next step keeping the optical axis firmly and the flange parallelism. A great reputation and reviews on this Leitz lens are prevailing in the Web sites, so I'm looking forward to complete this special lens! Few steps are left before the goal, so let's make haste!

Leitz TELE-Elmar 135/4 on EOS

I'm going to convert Leitz TELE-Elmar 135/4 onto Canon EOS digital imaging format and now considering about the barrel construction to be modified. Minolta MD ROKKOR 135/3,5 helicoid mechanism construction would be utilized for the purpose. Mounting TELE-Elmar lens head on Minolta is not always easy as usual, difficulty in fitting firmly on it exist. In addition, reduction of the barrel weight is one of the requirement, original unnecessary connecting part would be deserted shown in the picture. Trial fitting proved that infinity lens element position would be established without any physical reason. Tele-Photo design that is shorter than 135mm resulted in the lens element positioning posterior than another conventional designed ones like Elmar 135/4 or Hektor 135/4,5. As a matter of fact, original Minolta iris constructive mechanism should be removed thoroughly and only a Minolta original helicoid construction would be play a part of modified Elmar 135/4. The Elmar 135/4 iris construction that is ideal round shape existing anterior position just behind the hood would would not cause any inconvenience when used actually. The problem on the dust sealing cover helicoid has been standing on the way, now I have found out a good solution. Now I'm making desperate efforts on this modification dreaming a good results.
There would be no argument to discuss on an inconvenience to use 135mm lenses on Leica M body with a smallest bright frame without checking out focusing scenery, in addition, 135mm on APS-C image plays a part of 200mm pure telephoto lens. Elmar 135/4 is Carl Zeiss Ernostar design, former Sonnar production, and the character is vivid and strong but fine lines resolution, my friend who is a former director of Nara Cultural Museum curator uses this lens as one of a device for recording cultural heritage. Misundersanding

Because I met one of an intimate foreign friend from France on last Saturday, just I said, "Where to?", then he replied, "To work." with his face changing into unpleasant. Light switch repair

The inconvenience in main operating light switch used for 24 years every day has overcome today, it puts off unintentionally and on and off actions recovers for a period of time. The lack of current supply must be caused by one of burned terminal in the toggle switch, so I prepared new replacement parts from stock box. But, deeper consideration led me a conclusion that the burnt terminal should be a moving one and the three terminal construction remains another virgin contacting point, then changing wiring must recover some enough current supply like new switch parts!  My imagination was to the point and repairing procedure has finished safe without replacing switch parts by just changing terminals to opposite side, good solution did I?

Super Beetle inspection

I just came back home from Netz TOYOTA after checking the exhaust gas emission test. The obtained datum, Carbon-oxide 0,11%  and Hydrocarbon 670ppm fully comply with the regulation enough, CO 4,5% and HC 1200ppm. Though I adjusted the air volume mixture screw toward closing clockwise direction to make it richer in accordance with colder temperature these days, the margin for CO limitation still much remains to satisfy the regulation. As coming Thursday is prepared for inspection test turning around every 2 years, I had to check exhaust emission prior to the ongoing public automobile inspection. I just remembered that the rear seat cushion removal is necessary for air-cooled Beetle to be checked body number. Window screen shower is so modified that Radio-control model airplane field fuel supply electric pump that is 12V activated is set on the way from water saving tank to spraying nozzle. Original design is utilizing the pressure of spare tire's one, not so reliable so I changed. Frontal wheel alignment is so set that side slipping value at 0 mm  with 20minutes negative camber on both side in the condition of driver's weight at the seat portion. All the bulbs are alive including head lights and tail light, emergency signal lights at the corners and back up lump when the reverse gear is selected. Speed meter at 40km is very accurate with the verification of GPS system. Horn is OK.
Don't forget to bring with Tax certificate and stamp seal. As I am going to Kobe Kinki Branch Department of Motor Vehicle, I would drop in some famous restaurant for lunch on the way home.

Art Exhibition at Nakanoshima OSAKA

Went out I for an artist exhibition at Nakanoshima Rihga Royal Hotel Gallery yesterday. 5 artists exhibited in completely different means of expression served the effort works promptly. Abstract landscape oil painting, oil painting drawing but on Japanese traditional Noh stage and dancer, Quint knitting race with huge and different colors, Copperplate etching pictures and Model of fishes by means of ceramic method. I had opportunities to talk about the works on their concepts  and some professional technologies, ceramics and copperplate etching, there existed difficulties that don't come out in the table promptly. We should know how much the artist had make effort before the exhibition, estimations only on the work just in front of us is not enough, let's see and understand hidden parts. Power of insight to see the Backs should be nourished by ourselves? Because, just judging only the result is something, but imaginations and guessing the part hidden in the back that had obliged the artists make some desperate efforts are more, don't you think?

ROKKOR 24/28 arrived!

Minolta MD W ROKKOR 24/2,8 arrived at my hand through YaHoo Auction at the price of below 10,000 yen, another is still now in selling with no bit at 20,000 yen. Three times expensive price tag is hung if obtained as Leitz Elmarit 24/2,8 that is a daughter product(OEM) with the same optical constructive design. Judging from a frontal optical element, it looks pure Minolta green coating style. This old Minolta SLR lens would be set on Leica M9 digital CCD imaging format by way of 16,20 mm compensating adapter that is now under construction by myself utilizing Minolta genuine extension tube parts. I'm looking forward to see the result of the experiment. Though there is no way to focus up firmly on M9, physical performance of  wide angle fixed focal length lens does not always require that like range finder coupling because of deeper focusing depth. Even on 28 mm lens does not do, so does on also 24 mm.
New information from Leica Camera AG noticing new aspherical　21mm M lens release. But I would not proceed to the product, because the new lens isn't designed not produced by Leica company but only an OEM product by some small Japanese optical lens manufacturer? In addition I do not appreciate an aspherical designing basically, paste-like depiction of the painting picture.

Chocolate cake

I have received and enjoyed a specially handmade chocolate cake for the sake of St. Valentin's day celebration yesterday. I appreciate the way of life with a margin of Sacred Heart. Of course I know how much effort is required to make up one off cake like this as a hobby work rather than as a job. I had better follow the person to study more in my life. Cookies and cakes must be interesting as a hobby, someday I might try the world as well as cooking field, there must be waiting an another world. Do anything by myself is the first as usual, so I think. 

Old but still remains

I went out for a lecture on pulmonary tuberculosis held by OSAKA Health Center opened for medical personnel. Especially stated there on the danger of multiple-resistant tuberculosis caused by diagnosis error leading to fatal. Japan is still now a moderate tuberculosis infectious country. Large disparities between city and country. Tendency to infect on geriatric and social vulnerable. Increasing in number among immigrated foreigners. Nobody cannot avoid infections because it does through airborne.
There exist a few client who has long lasting coughing habit, they might need any diagnosis on this infectious disease and should proceed to receive next step including change doctors.

IOC Commission has excluded Wrestling Competition for next International Olympic Game, how come? The officials of Wrestling game must have disappointed so much all over the world! This is the most unlikely affair in last half century? It is not difficult to imagine the rate of deception of whom is concerned. Past discriminated games like Soft ball Game, Base ball Game and Japanese Karate might survive again instead of Wrestling? The number of games in Olympic Game might be limited in some reason, why not the more the better? It might be true that some interest of Olympic Game by the people might distancing recently? I hope that we do not feel bad because of the decision by IOC Commission.
The reason for elimination of Wrestling Game from Olympic Game might be reasonable.
Lack of intimacy among European countries recently.
Difficult to understand the game regulation for watchers.
Also difficult and complicated rules.
Sense of injustice by judges depend on individual differences.
Gender gap in number of category.
Racial discriminative feelings to Asian stronger races in the game.
Waning game like wrestling cannot attract popularity leading to some difficulty to catch financial sponsors.
There must be another reasons like inviting some relative of former IOC representative from Europe?

About a month remains before we have warmer Spring, best care must be taken to overcome this coldest period of time with pushing Cold aside.

Daughter product 24/2,8

I got the winning Minolta MD W-ROKKOR 24/2,8 by chance at relatively reasonable price in YaHoo Auction, this has specific episode of OEM supply to Leitz company as Elmarit 24/2,8 for Leica R mount bodies, so Leica R mount lens exists with the same optical constructive designing as daughter products. Based on my selfish recognition, this lens on Leica M9 would make sense even among Leica Club group by turning knead theory? They might look on me as triumphant fool, this historic Minolta 24 mm lens would not destroy the atmosphere of the group with the concept of  "Use only Leica system for our expression".
As for lack of finder bright frame for 24mm lens in Leica M9, a digital system would solve this kind of trifle defect at all, because the validity of framing is confirmed immediately after shooting.

Warm encounters

I visited the photographic art exhibition by "Sharaku 2008" as a stranger at OSAKA Station Building #2 on fifth floor, as for my surprise I was so treated as warm and polite utmost. One of the group explained me finely about the work, it's photographer and also the concept of the group, the age of the person must be around 70. I could easily guess his dear personalty and his attitude made me feel to participate in the group work. Then I asked myself that could I do the same as him, not so easy task to explain so carefully with kindness as he did to me? I must study on his way of life.

Also visited I Recital Shigin and Sword Dance held at Kumin Center of Ikuno-ku OSAKA and had I an opportunity to talk friendly with one of performer, around 80 years old living in Nara City who is active as an volunteer commentary for Nara sight seeing visitors about the History of Nara Asuka. His knowledge could make guess his deeper life experiences he had been in and study much from him in the connection of minds each other. After all, we could saw a consensus on the end of our lives, we should go to heaven without any troubling to self-families, just saying good night and no-waking up in the next morning. This is the best way to go up, don't you think? 

Kansai Leica Club Exhibition

I have happened to visiting the 28th exhibition by Kansai Leica Club at Crista Nagahori Gallery yesterday and there were dear friends. The representative has been changed into Mr. Hiraoka who is a retired person from some famous company of traditional industries. The group has been making efforts to express prosperously utilizing reliable Leica system. They would be very happy if they could have many visitors, so written in the invitation post card. According to my experience, it is very difficult to make up some works to be shown in the exhibition fulfilling the requirement, impressive, unusually rare, understandable, good lighting, shooting angle, balanced composition and  alive work. To do that as an amateur photographer, some desperate effort becoming serious would be required, it's can not be merely for fun. Do I do again the same like 10 years ago joining with them?

Fantasy Castle

Early this morning had I an opportunity to shoot from Nakajima to Maishima Waste incineration plant utilizing Minolta MD 200/4 telephoto lens, that had been modified by me to adopt onto Canon EOS digital format. It is very famous for the outstanding designing by a foreign designer and unbecoming fantasy castles appearing in a fairy tales world, but actually a waste material processing factory. This is why the place is counted as a sight seeing spot.
Taking haze scenery and through some safety net protection as the shooting condition was, the result did not betray nor permit me to declare any complaint with single word. I'm completely satisfied with the requirement of contrast and resolution balance. The helicoid construction is made of engineering plastic, not metallic material indeed, some necessary strength and rigidity for actual use is satisfied and the wear degradation of multi-threaded screw construction of helicoid would not invite any anxiety as the slipping movement is performed intervening lubricating grease material. Though handling with care should be done, but this light weight lens would endure enough to withstanding abuse.

Minolta SLR to Canon EOS

I have made up my mind to construct a adapter ring utilizing Minolta Extension Tube and Leica M body cap parts in order to adopt Minolta MC wide angle manual focus lens onto Leica M9 digital camera without any modification on MC bayonet lenses. Though there does not exist range finder coupling, the deeper focus depth of physical property allows to set on camera body if used below 28 mm lenses. Though 16,20 mm flange back value should be compensated precisely, 1 mm grinding adaptation procedure on Leica M body cap made of engineering plastic would fulfill the requirement. For connective material between them, self curing Methyl Methacrylate Resin material would be applied there.

Minolta MD ZOOM 35-70

Minolta MD ZOOM 35-70mm/3,5 lens has obtained by chance through YaHoo Auction at very cheep roce  1,000 yen the other day and been modified to adopt on EOS mount as usual. It appeared and sold in the Auction at a cheapest price as a junk lens, I tuned it on the aim as it must be in good condition without any chestnut lane trace, yes, my imagination was to the point and no competitor appeared! It arrived at me in almost MINT condition just with small mold invasion that was easily cleaned by me. Bingo!
As a matter of fact, all the iris controlling mechanical construction combined with original Minolta SLR body has thoroughly removed on this ZOOM 35-70 lens, because the iris open and close function is dictated by iris control ring directly. As for the critical discrepancy on flange back discrepancy 0,5 mm was easily compensated by loosening and tightening the 3 small rocking screws on frontal surface of focusing ring as shown in the picture.
As I have often tried several zoom lenses including Angenieux models while silver salt period, I could not obtain any good results on the photo works if compared with conventional fixed focal length lenses. Now, I can compare them on LCD as digital datum applying indispensable software, "Photoshop", and my perception on Zoom lenses has just changed recently. Probably there must be any compatibility with reproducing lenses, projector lense or developping one? Consequently, I don't have enough experiences on Zoom lens in carrier, as a next step, I'm going to enjoy mastering Minolta new comers belatedly. It is true that this pretty MD 35-70/3,5 Zoom lens would be used long and continued from now. I must refrain from doing like this by now, because modified Minolta MC and MD adopting onto Canon EOS mount have been increased in number day by day, it looks like my past incarnation, bad hobby habit.

NEW MD 200/4 completed

Minolta MD 200/4 Telephoto lens latest model has successfully modified to adopt onto Canon EOS Digital body yesterday. Because the rear lens element case is made of engineering plastic and heat bending method is invited to hold the most rear lens piece, small breeding of mold area was not cleaned, to do that some braking edge mechanical invasion is inevitable. This kind of inclusion on optical axis would not affect on resulting imaging. Lens back adjustment fee is left more 1 mm more between helicoid ring and helicoid case.
I'm looking forward to compare  it with old Minolta 200 mm lenses, QF 200/3,5 and PE 200/4,5.

Last spherical M-50/2

Leica M Summicron 50mm f2 standard lens shown in the picture is the last spherical model after several improvements and generation changes these 60 years. I recommend this one as the ideal figure of ultimate of optical construction, aberration corrections, color balance, resolution, contrast and another requirement as a standard lens if used even on digital formatting images. Though there has been announced a expensive new apochromat model now, no more performance than this last spherical 50 mm M Summicron is desired for my personal use on earth. If I was forced to obtain only one photographic equipment to be allowed, I will choose this lens and M9 digital body without any hesitation. 

Surprises!

Arrived Minolta NEW MD 200/4 telephoto lens surprised me twice, very light weight 410 gr and the helicoid inner piece constructive material. Lighter weight comparing with 790 gr of MC TELE ROKKOR-QF 200/3,5 must have been brought by some engineering plastic optical construction, so I imagined at first, but a few seconds were not necessary to solve the weight question after disassembling of helicoid construction, yes, relatively long helicoid inner piece is made of engineering plastic, I was really surprised to have observed the fact. Because two pieces inner and outer helicoid pieces do not touch each other and just are floating on lubricant material while focusing procedure, engineering plastic material might be introduced so far as the problem of vulnerability of physical property. Most of mold forming areas are the surfaces between the a space for iris construction, so relatively easily it is removed, but a specific rear part of lens element constructed by heat pressing method prevented me from cleaning the surfaces at most rear part of the element.

Important hood depth

It goes without writing that any unnecessary light source should be eliminated when we press the shutter intending good transparencies or good digital images. In movie field, "Barn Door" is set on the movie lens frontal end to cut off harmful light source intending "Halation cut-off" method. The requirement for good pictures is the same as still camera field. According this principle, old and ancient lenses while there was not any lens surface coating technology are available even on recent digital formatting. Thanks to a convenient adjustment soft-wear Photoshop, "Tone curve", color tone balance is adjustable anyway we want. 

Lens performance

Conflicting elements exist in designing photo lenses, this fact would not be changed so far as any lens device is invited into camera even in digital age. Among the requirements, saturation, vignetting, contrast and resolution are indispensable element to establish good performance of optics. Of course the balance of them are important as that of other fields, the best answer for designing is calculated by means of sophisticated computer system in very short period of time even for eliminating harmful factors such as lens inner surface diffuse reflections. We may regard that the lens designing technology had been already established while the silver salt film formatting period of time. Also, a most patent for famous lens designing had been run short already, so every lens designing engineer looks for toward the same direction resulting some ideally good designing and almost the same as each other. Though some lens designing engineer might say that any lens taste called loudly is simply based on some residual correction error, I still insist on the "Taste". A choice of lens for photograph work resembles that of painting tools for drawing, so I think.

Because, "War" means to kill each other until the enemy ruins, any weapon with any method will do, the slaughter like this? Canon 10D repaired

Fallen bayonet flange lock button was set in original position, repeated rough handling there allowed the stopper E ring inside fall down unintentionally a month ago. As lens replacement could be done by pushing down locking pin part itself, I left it undone pretending that was not my own fault for a month. Today I have made up my mind to do that, though I have no experience on a recent camera body mainly made of engineering plastic. Anyway I have carried out the task taking time because of the first experimental trial. But for U-Tube movie showing about the construction inside and how it was assembled in order. I could have some self confidence to proceed to not only mechanical camera construction but also to fully electrified recent ones. Few screws removal was necessary to open outer cover made of magnesium alloy that is strong and light as to be the gravity of aluminum. Most of screws were not tightened enough after tens years of use. Strobe pop up switch and iris closing switch were just put on a thin film wiring plate without solid fixation, unreliable structural design at all, too expensive if it cost around 300,000 yen.
Very inconvenient mirror box upper part was engraved that prevents setting some specific lens with the character of lens-back projection Round shape grinding was performed to accept lenses with relatively longer and project backward interference comes on not only mirror box forming parts but also on reflector plate itself. Over ten years ago, no EF-S lens introduction was not planned by the company? Comparing old 10D and newer 7D, mirror size is changed into smaller one, so, smaller mirror size can make it possible to accept rear lens case projected EF-S lenses.

Hood depth

The length of hood depth is very important to avoid unnecessary strong light that would do harm on a clear and transparent picture causing flare, this is especially said on old designed optical construction while period the technology had been developed enough, both coating on glass materials methods and lens element designing construction. No argument is necessary on importance of a device to cut off any harmful stronger light source invasion on the imaging format no matter how it is a conventional silver salt film or digital formatting image. If I mention some ideal opinion on this topic, Barn-Door for movie camera should be invited even in still camera field and be adjusted rotating it cutting any harmful light sauce invasions occasionally for every shot.
Based on this concept, did I actually check the hood depth that is necessary for Minolta MC ROKKOR PF 58/1,4 standard lens under the condition, most closest iris setting at infinity helicoid position. As an experimental trial attempt, I put longer one for 135/3,5 with 55mm diameter resulting the proof, even far longer hood depth was not enough for 58/1,4 if used on APS-C narrower imaging format, lacks 15mm forward!?
It looks so trifles as to be ignored, but stacking things small and trifle is important and the result of things stacked is not trifles no more than things great, so I conclude today.

Minolta MC ROOKOR PF 58/1,4 !

Minolta MC ROKKOR PF 58/1,4 standard lens has successfully modified to adopt onto Canon EOS digital image format. The physical performance of this old lens is almost the same as the fact mentioned in the article. The design concept is putting an emphasis on the resolution rather than contrast according to the perception while the period of time. The smaller first lens of PG model than PF one shows that newer transparent glass material had been introduced at the model changing time. I prefer this one to a newer MC ROKKOR PG 50/1,4 that has a different designing concept changed into more contrast expressions.
The curvature of frontal lens element is different each other, so the designing had been changed fundamentally, surface coating methods must be changed judging from the outside. The barrel designing was extended helicoid length for later model because of obtaining 10 cm more close up capability. Projected rear lens element case hits on the upper portion of mirror box of old 10D body, so any grinding trial fitting must be necessary if it is set firmly on 10D body. On the other hand, 7D body can accept this rear lens case projected construction that is designed to accept EF-S lenses that have often projected rear lens case.
