A radial mount for ENYA 60 X was fabricated with wooden plate to be burdened on a flying motor testing airplane, Sukhoi 31.
Though the radial mount is set on the bulkhead by way of 4 points rubber insulator, I designed to support with rubber plates in addition for the purpose of avoiding combustion knocking vibration. This kind of mounting method might spoil the true maximum and ultimate performance of the motor, but the effect of prolonging the lives of potentiometers in the servo's construction as well as of all the moving parts in the airplane.
Rubber insulators for the motor mounting take effect for silent flight, vibration and combustion noise including that is produced by propeller's cavitation in the sky and that is similar with combustion noise. Most of the noisy air plane amplify both noises on main wing and fuselage surfaces, in short, they play a part of noise amplifier in the sky. This is why the method to separate the noise causing origin with airplane body at the point of the first bulkhead by means of setting any insulation materials, rubber.
But, remember here, a slight fluctuation on the motor thrust line affects on the flight, most of the pilot might feel some funny reactions to every direction.
Considering the physical property of the viscoelasticity in rubber material, below JIS #70 coefficient is not recommended for the purpose here.
This motor had not been operated as long as 40 years just after once testing operation with Tuned pipe on Curare 60.
As a secret information, the main crank shaft supporting bearing is a very seldom one, the outer lace diameter is 2 mm wider than ordinary #6903, so the engraving on the front case for supporting bearing does not accept #6903 so far as the space here should be fulfilled, a ling spacer must be required if popular one is desired.
This is why ENYA 60 X has not been used as my first line fighter's motor, however deeper I might love the specific character of ENYA 60 X, good performance producing stout construction and Aluminum alloy-Chrome plated cylinder design.
