Murin-Ann was the historic name was the place I visited for photo shooting today, Mu>nothing, rin>neighbors, Ann>shanty. No other housing was there around when this one was founded in Meiji period. The garden designing was performed by the famous gardener Ogawa Jihe who was also the person of Yasaka Shrine Garden utilizing Kyoto Incline water pressure, no electric water pump system was invited at all.
What I could see through the clear window glasses was some distorted sceneries that were exactly the same as Kobe Ijinkan God-freed Thomas's Wind-Cock house. The clear glass was remained as it was as Meiji period of craft, ununiformed distorted unflat glasses. Now it is very difficult to find it out, rare and valuable.
Imai Jihei's work is often the cases, just fine and wonderful to every corner. An old round corner stone was set in position where is suitable standing point for garden observation. Two Small and Cute waterfall were designed in a row at the highest portion. Scattering lawn was the desire of the original owner Aritomo Yamagata who was a politician while Meiji period and it was utilized as a Villa. Rare wall painting were remained in the small Western style building used as a stock room. Even in a week day today, a decent amount of activity was observed, so Kyoto is returning back to an original tourist destination with prosperity. But too much backpackers are not acceptable avoiding destruction of atmospheric condition.
