Simplified see through method putting the standard point on fender outside surface proved that there must be some error caused by lateral axle offset in frontal wheel alignment of VW Super Beetle. This is the result of attaining the same frontal camber value by adjusting strut upper mount inside with lower arm displacing outside by cam adjuster. In order to keep this relations on both side, I have to move left knuckle outside laterally with keeping parallel. Left strut upper mount bolt holes should be filed to be accepted on the moved positions and cam adjusting procedure would follow after that.
Thank to the simple strut axle construction in VW 1302 Super Beetle, this kind of geometric adjustment is easier than other Beetles with swing arm axle one.
This is one of the reason to have chosen Super Beetle to keep for my private enjoyment as a hobby in addition to that of specific independent rear suspension designing.
I feel that I have almost digested Super Beetle after one and a half year interval of reconstruction and adjusting 40 years old vehicle without any outer assistance but only by myself.
Remained tasks for her are painting outside and minor adjustments only, all the moving parts works well as to pass Legal Inspection every 2 years by government agencies, not private one.
Tools for wood material works in my villa must be brought to new laboratory today, hole saws, drilling bit and so on.
The way for bicycle to pass steps in front of the gate would be compensated by putting iron flat plate there.
Some drawer should be prepared on the left side of working wagon for assistant convenience, the simpler the better.
The 100 yen priced shop would serve some adequate ones made of engineering plastic material, visiting there today for suitable goods.
