Junk device

Junk strobe scope obtained few days ago for ignition timing checking was proved to be a truely junk, does not work well. Disassembling the device, some booster circuitry and trigger circuitry exist and latter one is the equivalent of thyristor with PNP and NPN Tr..

I hope the replacement of trigger into much more sophisticated one(SCR) would recover the originally designed performance as strobe timing checker.

Anyway the future is not so dark and narrow.

Umbones

An umbo is very dangerous in case of unexpected accident.

So, anything sharp and the materials harder than human body should not be positioned just in front of the driver and the navigater in the automobile.

From the upper concept standing point of view, the optional parts, for example, an under tray fixed under the handle shaft of the VW Beetle is convenient but very dangerous in case of traffic accident on the other hand, especially leading to some knee injury.

The same is said on additional switches positioned on just under the meter craster, parking sw, rear defogger sw and road spot light and fog lamp sw, probably they were added after production at dealer's service factory.

I'm going to move those switches from the original portion to dash board between the switches for head light and for window wiper.

Meter illumination?

Inspections this afternoon proved the fuse to have been destroyed was alive on VW 1302 Super Beetle. Most right sided white one in the fuse box.

The reason why meter craster was not the fuse breaking but the darkest illumination control, that is a rotating rheostat embedded in the main righting switch.

Now only one servicing point is wind washer system, being left undone. Yes, tasks for tomorrow would be the wind washer and strobe ignition timing light checking.

The total distance meter is not adjusted from the beginning, 31,221km is the truth.

New parking place from coming April is reserved today, all the payments were finished. It will be very near from new working place, within 10metes.

Modifications?

Modifications on automobile by the users seldom invites better result than undone. Any genuine parts for the specific automobile is firmly quality controlled by the constructors.

Any rooms are not left to modify in order to make it better on performances, in short any models are so designed to make best balance as it is.

Only spotting on some specific point, changing some parts with different physical property would surely destroy the mechanical balance.

Any parts replacements sould be performed with the factory genuine same parts for servicing.

The intentions of the car designer must be best admired.

Then what can an user do on the automobile? What kind of modification is allowed to do?

As a conclusion, no parts and no way exists for ordinal user, except the adjustments for correction of precise constructive geometry and wheel alignment resetting.

For the upper working, the precisions must proceed that of factory constructions, if complicated and very difficult setting procedures would be privately performed.

Anyway it took me over ten years to do that effectively, as for me, a technical engineer in one of a different scientific field.

Strobe

Ignition timing light device has been obtained finding out to be a NOS(New Old Stock). Then how old is this American device, the switch to change voltages 6V and 12 insists the birthday was around 1970, for example VW Beetle produced prior to 1967 they had 6V lead battey.

High voltage by miswiring would do harm to the circuitry inside, so written on the caution lavel.

I hope this device would work well without any restoring troubles.

Teflon powder

Micro grain Teflon powder Microflon-2 was applied on 4 engines and power steering pressure lines yesterday.

Remarkable improvements were recomended promptly, became smooth,being in less mechanical noises, powerful and satable.

Remembering 40 years ago, there was same kind of additives, Microron and Flonteer etc. Now the Teflon power material reminds me of good, young and cheerful days.

Residual tasks for VW 1302 Super Beetle are wind washer, fuse replacement broken by my miswiring, remember the control is minus on old Beetle.

I would try to have a temporal license to bring my Beetle to Netz TOYOTA for servicing on head light directions, brake effect checking, side slip test and emission gas checking, CO below 4,5%, HC 1500ppm.

I'm at a loss how to do on setting the day at the same time, Legal Inspection Test day and the upper preliminary inspection in TOYOTA.

Fuel tank removed

Fuel tank was removed at last on VW 1302 Super Beetle to ascertain the steering universal joint boots upper & lower. Repairing program were performed as mentioned before. Rusted fuel tank was lucker painted in black color and fixed firmly as it was and several vent hoses were connected promptly without failures.

I might have shortened fuel gage circuitry by mistake, meter craster illumination does not turn on if head light was put on. Fuse replacements must be required anyway.
