Konica Electro 35

Getting on the beat of Old Lens plantation, I'm going to try Konica Electro 35 this time, relatively newer one. It often appears in Yahoo Auction at very low price like nothing, this is why I set the next target, but Gaussian 4 group and 6 element optical designing is the same as former manually controlling models.
As a matter for disappoint, Electrically controlled 2 blade iris has strange shape, it looks like a Cross at all. The engineers must have well developed and researched before designing this Cross shape and it will not do harm on the picture quality. Hexanon 45mm/f1.8 would play a good part of focusing on Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor digital image sensor. Fine transparency would be obtained, so I hope.
Les unit has removed from another junk body and the shutter mechanism including slow governor would be removed thoroughly without destroying external appearance. 55 mm hood is available and 8 mm forward extension would allow 70 cm close up shooting if an original helicoid mechanism is utilized.
To tell the truth, Cross shape 2 piece iris construction delays my enthusiastic power not a little.

Successful Transplantation

Transplantation of Konica Hexanon 47mm/f1.9 lens in Konica S3 onto SONY E-mount has successfully completed. Though a similar Hexanon 48mm/f2.0 in S2 had been done already in same manners, this time I tried not to destroy original shape and appearance, so lens shutter mechanism such as iris, slow governor and self timer were left untouched. Also an original straight helicoid construction was left with increasing 90 degree rotating angle leading to 60 cm close up shooting.
As the shutter charging and cocking lever plays a part of straight helicoid mechanism, forming lever guiding channel was required, 3.4 mm mounting spacer was added to keep adequate infinity position.
Though an original Konica S3, one of a cultural legacy, was destroyed as shown, the most important part is survived on Digital image sensor fairly, this is my apology, so my stupid attitude might be forgiven by God, so I hope.
The modification this time looks better than before, ordinary person who glances never realize my hand comfort or fucking, except round shape focusing lever. 

Farewell to Caldina

I said goodbye to TOYOTA Caldina AZT241W 3 days ago, in spite of well maintaining by replacing necessary periodical replacing parts, 4 motor mounts, dynamo brush and magnetic switch in starter motor including expensive 4 plugs, tire replacement and precise wheel alignment setting. She could be continued 4 more years without any problem. The suspension construction of Caldina was not recent popular Torsion-Beam but Double-Wishbone, this is the most favorite point for me, also 2,000 cc natural aspiration with good power and motor braking effect.
Then, 36,000 km used 2,011 model Audi A3 Sportback is the next one in stead of Caldina. 1.4L Turbo charged direct intra-cylinder fuel injection with DSG trans-axle are it's character.
As I judged by see through eye checking method, there existed wheel alignment and axle construction discrepancies as a matter of fact.
Precise scaling utilizing LASER pointer level meter revealed them numerically, Rear total toe 33.5 min and Thrust angle plus 13.1 min angle value. They would be corrected tomorrow.

Farmers Garden at Mino

I visited Farmers Garden at Northern Mino the day before yesterday, it's my second time. The experience last time allowed me more stable shooting photo style than before. Just single visit is not enough to obtain good transparencies at all, it's as usual.
As for my surprise, two different type of owl were nourished there. One is Bengal eagle owl and another is African eagle owl, both of them could be observed as far as withing 1 m, how fascinating they were to see actually just in front of my eye sight!
Though their beak is steep and threatening, no biting nor squeezing at all, unnecessary to be afraid, they are calm and well-behaved.
Tasty and well seasoned Pizza pie is relatively big size, 1 piece for 2 geriatric is too much, 1 for 3 persons is adequate. All the vegetables are flesh so much because they were in the garden alive on the ground there. Price tags are reasonable.
In spite of Sunday today, running cars are very few and pedestrian is the same. Not alive thing, Virus prohibits all the distribution economy all over the world, how come?

Stagnated condition

Very few people were walking around both at Shinsaibashi and Umeda, less tourists from PRC and Korea. Well decorated exhibition is not enough to attract foreign tourists under unusual circumstance at all. Also an announcement not to go out except urgent and emergency is another reason. Every treatment and dealing is so smooth recently.
Waiting for 2 weeks might recover this unusually stagnated condition all over the world?

Anxiety on transplantation

The lens mechanical construction of Konica S3 old camera is exactly the same as that of big size format. Nostalgic memories came into my mind while I did disassembling and separating S3 model. Even this small bulk shutter, iris and slow governor including self timer are well designed and incorporated, shutter charging, cocking and releasing are operated perfectly. I highly appreciate the technology and the skill of the engineers at that time. The construction inside is the same as mechanical hand watch with highly sophisticated precision. Not a little abusing regretting was recommended in my mind to have destroyed this kind of Cultural Legacy, on the other hand, the most important part, lens could be survived now by my transplanting procedure and be re-lived again this digital format period.
I found out a important difference on helicoid thread inclination, that of S3 model has more lough thread than S2 model. It meas that less rotating angle create quick focusing method, it will oblige me to change my shooting rhythm at all.  I have an experience that Leica M-Summilux 50/1.4 is my most favorite one, second generation in black aluminum barrel, and later silver one with brass case with 39mm mount was sold for a short period. It has quick focusing helicoid, half angular rotation for infinity to 1m adjustment. The change of focusing procedure was not so good but not so bad for me, just not my taste.
I'm afraid that the same story might happen this time after finishing a transplantation.

Transplantation Hexanon 48/1.9 old lens

50 years old Hexanon 48mm/f1.9 was removed from a silver salt film period camera Konica S2 model successfully. Hexanon 49mm/f2 lens has been already transplanted on SONY E-mount few days ago and the concept at that time was smaller and lighter as possible. Following that all the unnecessary parts had been removed except iris control and helicoid mechanism, but the moving is not straight but rotating.
The performance of 49mm Gaussian 6 elemnt 4 group lens is enough to satisfy my requirement with surprise. It's potential is above words, probably it is level or exceeds same size Leitz M-Summicron 50mm/2.
Very cheap priced at 500 yen exhibition Konica S3 model in Yahoo Auction obliged me to try 2nd attempt, these are why I determined to proceed inter-plantation with similar lens.
This time I'll try to keep an original figure as much as possible, so shutter charging lever and lens shutter mechanism and outer case would be remained as it is, helicoid rotating angle would be increased for more close up shooting.
Original flange back 28mm depth, that of SONY E-mount 20mm and utilizing body cap thickness 7mm allows me relatively easy way on physical relations, it means the tolerance and adjusting area is remained 1mm.
As the first step has cleared, next is fixation of helicoid outer ring on body cap flange with establishing infinity lens module position. Much consideration would be required to hold straight moving helicoid holding guide pin construction? 

Criminal is at large

Everybody in this town is gentle, kind and warm, so written in red kanji letter on the squared pole. As an another story, a few years ago, the nest of Kumataka with a pair of egg inside was found out just on the way of new highway development and the construction was obliged to stop. But several days later, it disappeared suddenly in the morning thoroughly without any trace and the operation started immediately. No one knows who did it and no argument occurred. Truth is in the dark and the criminal is at large.

St Valentin chocolate as a present

I'm much surprised to have received St. Valentin chocolate as a friendship present. Beautiful printing technology on the metallic case and very accurate fitting between upper and lower fitting, it's like a piston & cylinder of combustion motor including pressing forming thin iron plate.
Also fine printing was processed on the small chocolate confectionary with excessive precision. Mirror surfaced mold for forming cat face figure surprised me without any trace of separation agent. I have recognized great and incredible improvement in confectionery manufacturing field.

3 yellows in jail

The coldest wave is coming today, in addition some different pandemic one might come together?
Suppose we are in opposite situation in miserable disaster, dwellers in PRC must be in severe circumstance at all. It's a matter for deploring, only warm love is the way to console them.
Even now, any effective method for countermeasure is not reported yet, how come?  I hope this critical condition would be overcome ASAP.

Lovely three yellows were observed through grateful iron gate, separating wall like this is really necessary?
No discrimination in the world, please! Because we are all the same exactly if colored skin and epithelium are pealed off.

New season begins

Today, 3rd, February is the starting day of Spring season in Japan according to Lunar calendar.
However cold outside temperature might be, sprouts have prepared for blooming already.
Something new may happen on me in future.

Colder day today

It was a bit cold in Tamba-Sasayama area today also occasionally snowy a little. So, I & my good friend went out for warming ourselves to Kunimine Spring Sukeshichi. Rare thatched roof was observed on the way, it is very seldom now because of it's difficulty in keeping & maintenance.
