Minolta MD ZOOM 35-105

Minolta MD ZOOM 35-105 Macro lens would be the last one for me to be modified onto Canon EOS Digital formatting image, though it should have some complicated mechanical construction designing because of zooming system. Probably, some thin metallic sealing covering would appear soon after removing rubber ring for antero-posterior movement guiding groove of focusing main ring and in addition, 2 or 3 roller bearings would say congratulations. I have some confidence to disassemble, to clean unacceptable mold and it's marks, to lubricate at all the moving parts including helicoid grooves and to re-assemble as it had been in the original stage but with the only difference of bayonet parts, yes, it would be changed into Canon EOS mount. The long waited operation would be performed in the end of this week.

As mentioned above did it I the day before yesterday, there were some differences between the construction of fixed focal length and variable one, I had succeeded in making Minolta MD ZOOM 35-105 Macro lens survive on Canon EOS Digital mount. Mold were formed on the glass surfaces that are sandwiched iris blades area as usual, in addition, zooming action might have been invited them to coming in the lens barrel. Infinity focusing position was obtained by just removing stopper screw and the helicoid ring and focusing ring were synchronized as usual with some difficulty because of cemented a part requiring organic solvent, Chloroform to separate them.
After finishing all about the modification realized I that a relatively heavier lens weight does not always affect on only minus factor but play a part of stabilizer that is effective for preventing camera shake at relatively lower shutter speed such as below 1/15 sec. The performance of this zoom lens is better than I expected at all variable focal length values. I will not desert but use this one.
