Lateral rod axle construction?

On the way back after regular inspections at the dealer, I had the opportunity to drive the Rubicon Short for about 20 km distance.

The first thing I felt was that the steering had a reluctant habit of trying to flow to the right due to its swaying after bouncing.

The compression of the unilateral axle unit is caused by the circular motion. The lateral vector while circular rotation causes its entire rear axle to be shaken from side to side as a matter of fact.  It's an unpleasant driving taste at all.

As a result, he needs a countersteering and a correction rudder to keep the rudder straight. Since the straight rudder stability is basically not established, the steering feeling while straight running is very tiring to drive in a disgusting atmosphere.

Rolling due to the lateral movement of the axle is noticeable especially in the back seat, and waving motion is even more emphasized in laterally and vertically rolling movement in short wheelbase vehicles.

With a single lateral rod, we had histories of trying various things such as installing a split structure of the lateral bushes in order to prevent unnatural movement when vehicle is shocked by the method of preventing lateral movement of the axle. I have never seen the solution of the adverse effects of physical phenomena.

Alfa Romeo passenger cars about half a century ago invited the Watt's link system for the rear axle construction to prevent rolling and ensure straight-line stability.

In this suspension system, the side links held at equal lengths arms from the left and right bodies are connected to the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions of the rotary bracket provided in the center of the hosing.

It was excellent with no lateral movement of the hosing itself when bouncing, even with bilateral and one-sided axle subsidence.

At that time, it was the FR method, but now the FF method is the mainstream, and the driving force is moving forward, so the rear axle is not so much talked about.
