Reflection by Fool

As a matter for regret, must I reflect much more about an affair this time, the event to be ashamed enough, falling away down the right rear trailing arm pivot volt that the most important component of the constructive rear axle element. Why so long time to start this transaction? I did not have enough capability to realize the phenomenon in the early stage, I didn't check the malfunctions such as loosing a capability to turn with adequate speed until I feel deserting my vehicle with unpleasant feeling that cannot be explained. I should know about this when I discerned the strange rubber slipping noise from the portion, it had been pointed out by the VW professional Mr. Oguri who the representative of "Jam Garage" a famous VW Pro. Shop in Kyoto. Now, I have realized about the difference between the Professional in this field and some Amateur Layman like me. Now, I have made up my mind to sharpen and keener my own 5 senses including 6th one.

VW 1302 Super Beetle discharged

Thank to quick transaction by the VW shop "My Bows" in Tokyo, the axle parts ordered arrived at my hand before noon and the muscle work has finished before long this evening. Some application of additional rubber sheets at pivot portions on both side was so effectively done as I imagined and the additional axle alignment measurement and adjustment procedure has also done at the same time. Following driving test run proved that fixed and stable steeling feel, comfortable ride have obtained, no bad imagination such as deserting this Super Beetle has wiped out thoroughly. I determined that I would go with this till I go, it's probably 20 years later from now as my Dad did.

Super Beetle ill in bed

Strange steering reaction obliged me to check and to find out a critical problem on the rear axle of Super Beetle, a pivot bolt for right trailing arm was lost at all! As show in the photo, it was lost thoroughly also two pieces of the pivot washer also, this is why I felt quite a strange drive feeling the other day. As a matter of fact, thrust angle changes irregularly and driving direction was so dull and muddy as to make me feel that I might throw this away. With my desperate effort, found out the missed parts in the Web sight, VW shop My Bows in Tokyo. Unluckily, all of Japanese Island is now under long vacation period as Golden Holidays Week. The parts are already ordered following their form, they will send me them at least 6 days later, so my Super Beetle would be held on the supporting stands for a time being. The round donut shape rubber sheets are prepared for lateral compliance adjustment of the trailing arms on both side, the compliance there would be very important for establishing sure steering reaction and comfortable ride. Pivot bolt  & washers in the photo are removed left side ones.

Morning train accident

Unpredictable train accident obliged me to walk two stations this morning being taken a hour by chance. Though the way of taking train is the best way to go and back safely compared with that by car, traffic accident happens even on the train rail way. The accident like this happens twice or three times a year reminding the past, but this phenomena picked me out away naked from my own comfort zone that has been established according to every day lives unconsciously. Then I have realized that some athletic training is necessary for my health condition feel better than before. In addition, I could see and check some stores opening early in the morning those would not be recognized if I did come across.
Also I could not understand actually the theory of Dr. H. Tomabechi who is an outstandingly famous and the second to none in the Brain Functional Science in all over the world. To tell the truth, I'm much influenced by him and by his way of programming recently.

Fuel leak in Caldina AZT241W

A critical problem was found in Caldina AZT241W, fuel leak at the red marked point. Judging from it's service manual, the parts are replaced in Tokyo TOYOTA dealer 2 years ago according to their recall service campaign. Also, this 19mm tightening nut requires 30N torque power so written in the service manual. High fuel pressure would be imagined for Direct Cylindrical Fuel Injection system in D4 motor, how come? Some white powder splaying is applied for checking any fuel leak, but some moistened ring is observed there? I regard it is nothing but fuel leak! In spite of following service manual procedure, probably tightened at 30N torque power, leaking phenomena happened, it means that, more tightening would not solve this problem, there must be some clack or pin hole would exist in the supplied pipe part, so new one should be prepared including tightening nut? Any way some counter measure would be considered by the dealer in very near future about this. Now, I don't find out any inconvenience in Caldina except fuel leak at high pressure line.

130,000km used TOYOTA Caldin AZT241W

Though some anxiety existed before I obtain D4 motored Caldina such as clogged intake manifold and injectors, checking them at Netz TOYOTA dealer wiped out all the bad reputations. Judging from the service histories, all the counter measures and also periodical checking and replacing parts had been performed correctly, even on ATF & LLC. Then, residual tasks I should do for this 130,000km used vehicle are a led battery renewal, rear gate dumper replacement and lubrication on all the moving parts. Lib belt tensioner bearings, those of alternator and it's brushes checking and air conditioner pooley bearing, those were performed with 3 days muscle hard works. In spite of hitting and scratching marks, no critical damage element were not observed. 1,300kgr body weight with 2,000cc motor power contribute to a comfortable and lighter driving feel and this should last me so long.

TOYOTA Caldina AZT241W & VW 1302 Super Beetle 11AD

Transfer registration procedure and Legal Inspection test were safely finished this morning for my new comer TOYOTA Caldina AZT241W. But, here 2 problems have happened, front left side vehicle width lamp did not turned on but as for surprises for me and the inspector, it turned on when the bonnet was closed with the vibration after the engine room inspections.
In addition, declaration date, it's too early to obtain full 2 years interval, if I declare today, I would lose about one month compared with the original vehicle inspection certificate. I must declare between the date the second next month and the 10th coming February. The suggestion was made by the staff at Naniwa Land Transport Office with kindness. So, I made up mind to postpone till the 4th next month.
Because it's only processing on documents, Caldina itself is not always required to be driven there at that time, any way would do. Any way, it always the case that the Authorities determinations are complicated and inconvenient for citizens so much. I enjoｙed myself this morning with these inspection tests procedures, this kind of opportunity gives me some energy to live, because I am too old to dream.

As for my miserable air-cooled VW 1302 Super Beetle that had fallen into very bad destiny being towed 1300 kg Caldina, there exists unavoidable problem, almost clutch slipping phenomena. It was caused by nothing but by my fault. Just determined I to replace some relative parts with the clutch disk plate, release bearing, pressure plate, motor clank shaft oil seal, oil sealing O shape rubber ring and oil cooler sealing rubber bushes. All the replacement parts should be genuine ones. The quicker the better. Anxiety about this kind of problem invites unpleasant mental stress if I leave it undone.
